Mosaic Monday

oday is Mosaic Monday, and Mary from Little Red House, is hosting this lovely day.






y Grandma was one of the cutest babies. She made the best apple pie, and a great cup of coffee.



She had a bluebird named Michael and we used to watch Lawrence Welk and listen to the Lennon Sisters on television.



The song for this post is sung by the Lennon Sisters, and one of My Favorite Things was always sitting with a cup of tea with Grandma. If she was still alive today, we would be chatting away about how I used Photoshop to dress up her photo. She was a very cool lady.



If there is a bit of blue in the sky today, Grandma always said that if there was enough blue in the sky to make a pair of pants, it was going to be a nice day. Wishing you a very nice day filled with blue skies.

Destination Serendipity

I created this postcard this morning, I call Destination Serendipity.

When I had finished the composition, it made me think of how, if we put aside our fear, and set sail into God's blessings, perhaps He could orchestrate Serendipity for us daily.




The Definition of Serendipity: "Serendipity is the effect by which one accidentally discovers something fortunate, especially while looking for something entirely unrelated."

My Definition of Serendipity: There are no accidents in life, everything has a reason. When we let go of fear, God can bless our lives with something to surprise us. And this is why the song for this post is from my favorite movie...Serendipity,
When You Know.

I love sailboats and I long to set sail for Destination Serendipity. Sailing away with my sight set on letting God direct my destination. This 5 x 7 inch image is printed on dreamy cream Museo fine art paper. I centered the image on 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper to let you frame it to your heart's desire. I used a Vintage photograph, Antique Parisian architectural rendering and my digital paint box. It's sitting on a shelf in my little etsy shop. I added words to inspire you.

Pink Saturday

It's Pink Saturday and Bev from How Sweet The Sound hosts this wonderful Pink day. So, please stop by and see all the lovely pink posts.



Sitting in front of Louisa May Alcott's house and painting, I imagined what this charming little home would have looked like decorated with wreaths boasting pink ribbons and bows.




Standing in the middle of Concord, Massachusetts, just a short walk from town is Orchard House. Home of Louisa May Alcott.



I have photographed this home more than any other in New England.



This week I photographed the garden belonging to Orchard House.



I could almost imagine Louisa May sitting here and writing her stories.



It inspired me to paint her little house. I sat there for hours until sunset painting her home, thinking about the joy that she has brought to so many people and children over the years.



I put this little original watercolor painting on a shelf in my little shop on Etsy,



along with the digital painting of Pink Orchard House.



When the sun was setting, I could almost see a story in the moon over Orchard House.

She's Sew Pretty

There are places in the Land of Blog where as soon as you land there, you feel like you are home.



Reminders of simple but joyful things, like a gorgeous pin cushion looking cozy and cute in her bright and vibrant patterns.



When I saw the amazing pin cushions that Betty from She's Sew Pretty sews, I knew it would make the perfect gift.



Betty creates these, and her recent ones just stole my heart. like toadstools,















and cupcakes.














So when I saw this in the little window in her shop, I had to order it for my sister.



My sister Lynne, loves to bake and is an amazing seamstress.






Her blog is filled with all of those little treasures and reminders of cozy corners and the joy of home.

Thank you so much Betty, this little shop makes me happy. I know that my sister is going to love her new pin cushion. I know I love mine. It is such a generous one too, how clever because those little ones don't sit as nicely as these do...ready to hold pins and needles to make it easier to sew something pretty.

Welcome Fall

I took a drive today to capture the beginning of Fall here in New England for Rhondi's party.





I love to drive down country roads this time of year,
















and see the leaves falling as you admire Autumn views.
