Chandeliers always remind me of
Breakfast at Tiffany's, and my elegant friend, Joanna.

As a single young women living in Manhattan,

I would often meet my girlfriends in front of
Tiffany's.

We would go inside and browse all the time.

The shine inside that store was magnificent.

After we browsed and dreamed a bit,

we would head over to
The Plaza for a
cocktail and some giggles.

I was playing with chandelier designs and created bookplates, remembering wonderful times with my friend Joanna at the Plaza.

She always made me laugh. Lost in designing, I often find myself remembering the true gifts of life, friends.

Dear Joanna,
These designs were created with your inspiration of love and the richness you always added to my life. You know we both had our dreams come true, but I wish so much I could meet you today in front of Tiffany's and share all the shine we found in life. Well, someday I will see you in heaven, I sense your words whispering encouragement all the time.

I named this bookplate
Joanna's Dream. The song for this post was her favorite,
Moonriver, from Breakfast at Tiffany's.

What a sweet remembrance of friendship. I find it funny, you have been so many places and seen so many things, and I'm just a farmgirl who dreams of seeing the world some day, we have never met, but I still consider you a friend across the miles. I hope we meet some day:>)
Karen your photos are always gorgeous. Thanks for this weekend it was a blast. Kate loves the book. I'm going to use it for a future Artistic Mothers post. If you need a smile go to my Nanas Little Hobby site. Kate has a song to brighten up your day.

such a lovely memory!!!
wonderful photos - terrific book plate!
lovely tribute to your friend
we used to hang out in the Oak Room and drink, too. LOL Maybe we met one 'wet' afternoon! LOL
Would you believe I have never seen the move! I will have to rent it, if it still exist. I do love Audrey, but I was younger when she was a big star and not so in tune to that Hollywood period. It is on my 'TO DO' list!
Fun memories...I was hoping that you were going to say that you selected a little something that you enjoy to this day, but enjoying time with a friend and the giggles were the best of all.
This is Beautiful!!! I wish you my friend a happy week...m..
Such a fabulous post filled with the wonder of crystal, my favorite. Dearest Karen, I hope that all is well and your creativity continues to bless me each day.
Fondly, Anita
Oh Karen, what a beautiful tribute to your friend. I can just imagine you two young girls meeting in front of that wonderful place and soaking in its beauty; then go across the street to talk and dream! Your book plates are so pretty. laurie
I just had to come back and tell you, I was browsing your blog, and fell in love with the "Spring Doves" fabric! It is the most wonderful fabric I've ever seen! laurie
Beautiful photos! I've been going through some of your posts and saved a few of them for inspiration for my miniatures. Who knows you may see something familiar in my miniatures one day! (Although I must admit my plans and ambitions always far exceed the amount of time I have!)
What a beautiful tribute to your friend. Our friends do keep us going don't they. It's so difficult when we lose one but we will always have our wonderful memories to hang on to. Your images are lovely.
Karen, this was an amazing tribute to your Joanna. The love you shared have given you the memories you treasure.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
Isn't it wonderful as we grow older and learn to appreciate the wonderful times we had, and the friends? Times that can't be recreated, though you did a great job of evoking them! Cheers to Joanna! It's my favorite song, too.
Dear Karen,
I was moved....
A beautiful memory of a beautiful friendship!
Peace & love
be always with you!
