hen I open up Susan Branch's blog, I immediately feel inspired. One of my favorite books was A Fine Romance, all about her adventure in England with Joe.
I wrote a post about this amazing book and the book signing that we attended in Sandwich, Massachusetts.
Susan's love of music also let's me know what a kindred spirit she is, and she always begins a post with some MUSICA. Taken from her latest post.
I went to the mailbox this morning and found her new book, Martha's Vineyard, Isle of Dreams.
There are photographs from her scrapbook to help you feel like you are back in 1982, when her Martha's Vineyard adventure began.
Once I opened up the pages, I fell in love again.
You can purchase this book through Susan's blog or Amazon. It will be on the bookshelves early May 2016 |
I was divorced from my first love and left for Manhattan with a broken heart and lots of dreams. I moved to Princeton, New Jersey, next door to my new husband, the same year that Susan moved to Martha's Vineyard. As I read each word, it brings me back to another chapter of my life too. I can totally relate to her feelings of going from heartbreak to new adventures.

Another wonderful adventure in getting to know her work is attending her book signings. My friend Joyce and I have gone to book signings here in Massachusetts.
hen we learn that Susan is in town, we will drive to Cape Cod, Newburyport or now the upcoming signing at the Unlikely Book Shop in Plainville, Massachusetts.
You can find her event schedule here, to see if Susan is coming near you soon.

I am not alone, her most recent post called Proud Mommy has over 3,100 comments!
Now that the books are being shipped all over, you will find her blog even more fun. Susan will be sharing photos that people send from their homes and reading spots, as they read her new book.
P.S. I have left Susan's choice of MUSICA playing, and new romantic songs keep playing. A lovely soundtrack without commercials.
Lovely post, Karen! This has been an unusual winter for me and I ahve not been reading Susan's blog as faithfully as I once did. I did not even know she had a new book published! I will have to catch up on her blog and buy this book == I visited martha's Vineyard only once but fell in love with it.
My book is on the way I can't wait to receive it. The snippet you shared in this lovely post hit home like a bolt of summer lightening. After a 20 year marriage that ended in divorce i moved to Cape Cod following a life-long dream to live near the ocean. Once again, there's such a joy in knowing that there are other women out there who take a chance & search for the light through a dark tunnel. Although I moved back to Ohio, Cape Cod will always be home to me. Susan will be in eastern Ohio & I will be there at her book signing. So looking forward to it.
Thank you for writing such a wonderful post.
I can't wait for my copy to arrive. I nodded my head all the way through your post. I couldn't have said it better!
Hugs ----
What a lovely post. I've read all of her books, but haven't purchased this one yet. I'm sure it's just as good as all the rest. My favorite, so far, is Fine Romance. I adore all things British. I hope she comes near enough for me to go to a book signing. I'm in central Florida.
I love Susan Branch's books, blog, and all things Susan. You described how I feel when I visit her blog. Your's is like that, too. The word "lovely" comes to mind for both.
We are all three kindred spirits as Anne Shirley said.
Blessings,
GG
Oh Karen, I WANT that book now! I loved Fairy Tale Girl. This one looks just as promising. Thanks for this delightful post. Susan
