GONE FISHING

isnt'-snow-magical

Snowflakes on your mittenIsnt' snow magical? It's a good thing I have this love for snow because here in New England it's almost a daily event.

gone-fishing-4

Snowflakes on your mittenI went for a ride yesterday with my camera to memorize the brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr COLD. We have a lake down the hill and well, as I was driving by I noticed...

Gone-Fishing-1

Snowflakes on your mittenNow what?

gone-fishing-2

Snowflakes on your mittenI just had to get out of my car and get a better look.

gone-fishing-5

Snowflakes on your mittenThere in the distance I saw everyone out on the icy lake.

gone-fishing-6

Snowflakes on your mittenYup ice fishing!

gone-fishing-12

Snowflakes on your mittenNow how do these people keep warm?

gone-fishing-7

Snowflakes on your mittenI know that some of them build fires, and some have little houses to keep warm...but,

gone-fishing-closeup

Snowflakes on your mittenA I got a closer look, I saw that bottle sitting on that box. Now I know how they keep warm.

gone-fishing-kids

Snowflakes on your mittenSome kids had cleared away the snow and were ice skating, some were using their snow mobiles.

GONE FISHING

Snowflakes on your mittenAll in all I love how everyone is out enjoying the lake. Even when brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr baby it's cold outside!

Gone-Fishing-last

Snowflakes on your mittenAs for me and my mittens...I went home for some hot chocolate and to sit by the fire.

Snowflakes on your mitten

Snowflakes on your mittenThe song for this post is Baby It's Cold Outside, sung by an oldie but goodie...Mr. Dean Martin.

Oh Karen, the snow does look so cold...but I think the hope of catching a fish keeps them warm. Your photos are very good, I love the way you use them to tell the story. Thank you for visiting Margie's Crafts and leaving your lovely comment. I would love if you lived closer and would be honoured to have you come over and use my work space. hugs Margie.

I was going to enlighten you if you weren't sure how those fishermen were staying warm. LOL!

I've never been out on the ice for long...way too cold for me. But I do remember taking "shortcuts" across frozen lakes thereby cutting off many miles...in a vehicle. It scares me to think of that now.

Hi Karen, it's snowing here in Maine too! Yup, those guys drag a house out there on the lake, bring a snak, build a fire, have a drink, talk, ...uh, why are we out here? Uh that's right, we're fishing!

We have a moderate climate so snow and ice are not that common in winter here and I guess no one would make a fire on the ice, but I think the way that those people stay warm would appeal to some people here too! Beautiful photos!

Hi Karen, And here in the south we think that it is cold when it reaches the low 40's. lol. I love your photos of the snow, it is so beautiful. We haven't had snow in years now, but we are always hoping.

I have fond memories of ice fishing with my dad when I was a kid in Wisconsin. We get a bit of ice here in the mountains of California, but nothing thick enough to walk out on like back east.
