Today is Thankful Thursday, which was created by Rhondi from Rose Colored Glasses. Please stop by her blog to read the Thankful Thursday posts. I look forward to this day of reflection each week.
So what should I post for Rhondi's Thankful Thursday post? Well, I couldn’t quite think of something different to say, so I did what I always do when I need inspiration I took a ride in Blogland. I found an awful lot of smiles out there and I brought back some rainbows to share with you.
I found Kermit the frog singing about Rainbows on a video at the wonderful Our Red House blog. Kate was feeling blue and unselfishly turned her blue mood into green and shared Kermit the frog singing about rainbows on her blog for the rest of us to enjoy. I took home a smile and a song for this post. Kate writes that Jim Henson would have turned 72 years old on the 17th.
I found a very funny video on Nunnie’s Attic.
It cracked me up because my Mittens is forever getting one of us to feed her all day long, coyly doing that cat thing to make us think she hasn’t been fed yet.
On One More Moore this lovely lady Morgan is spending hours and hours posting new items to the Etsy store for the Nie Nie Benefit. Morgan writes:
"I just wanted to say thank you for supporting this sale, and supporting all the artists who have donated. I know a lot of them were worried that their items wouldn't sell (can you imagine?? everything is so cool!) To have nearly everything sell out this morning in just under 9 minutes left me really choked up (and not because someone beat me to what I wanted.) I just stared at the screen, refreshing, refreshing, tears were welling, welling. I just know your support means so much to the family. Thank you for being here and cheering from the sidelines."
She has extended the store for two more days, because she says that for some reason the pile of donations yet to be listed doesn’t seem to dwindle. They have probably had a record of top sales reaching over 312 in just two days.
The winning bid for the gorgeous Nie Nie Doll, designed by Du Buh Du dolls was sold for $1,000.00. Christine is donating more gorgeous mini canvases of the Nie Nie doll for tomorrow's benefit on Etsy. You can read about them and see these gorgeous creations here.
On Season of Singing I read the nicest story about The Kindness of Strangers.
Oh, and if I didn’t have to stop to make dinner I would have extended my stay in Blogland. It seems I left knowing just what to say in my Thankful Thursday post, and please take a rainbow home.
I am thankful for the rainbow that I always seem to find in Blogland. I am thankful for the people who blog, because they rekindle my faith in humankind every day. My heart is warm and my eyes are teary. I leave a whole lot more hopeful about the world, and I even feel better than I did when I was a kid watching Lassie find her way home. Thank you Rhondi, because your creation of Thankful Thursday sent me on a search today for inspiration and I am now rich with gratitude.
Right now I believe that the Rainbow connection is here in Blogland.
