In search of Television inspiration

Once, I loved watching television.  My father worked for CBS growing up, and we got to sit in dress rehearsals for The Ed Sullivan Show and Carol Burnett show.

Television was exciting then, and I loved all the wonderful television shows on all the networks.  Families would sit around watching their favorite entertainment shows together.

Typically, I watch the news on television  around the time I am cooking dinner to find out what is going on in the world.  Other than enjoying the Big Bang Theory on television, I find reality TV dominates most networks.  I enjoy the Travel channel, HGTV and Plum.

I love watching British television shows and I enjoy the BBC.

Now I find myself watching the BBC to really know what's going on in the world.  Even on the most prestigious news programs  get stuck obsessing about what is happening today, and barely touch on world news.

Just wondering, is there some show on television that I might be missing?

Dearest Karen,

I think that by sticking to the BBC and your creative outlets, you are not missing a thing. TV is no longer what it used to be and who needs more reality shows? "Reality" is hard enough for me sometimes, especially how it is portrayed on those shows!!!!

Lovely photos my dear. We had a HUGE storm yesterday! How about you?

Well this will be interesting...I'd like to know the same thing. After Jeopardy ends, the tv usually goes off. We watch BBC comedies on Saturday night. I like Once Upon a Time on Sunday eve and miss Downton Abbey. I like Shark Tank on Friday evening.

What fun for you and your family to sit in on rehearsals! There must be great memories associated with those times. I could handle the loss of the old variety shows better IF we could still have some at Christmastime. Even the vintage shows would be great! I'd love to watch them all over again.

It's hard to find anything good to watch. We watch TV Land for old reruns or TCM for old movies. Sometimes we watch the History channel. (I like American Pickers) But mostly we just watch our own old movies on DVD. Sweet hugs!

Hello Karen,

Love this illustration!
I also watch The Big Bang Theory, it's awesome.

I started watching The Taste, but it's almost over now.
