A Walk Through Duke Gardens

We visited Raleigh, North Carolina yesterday and took a walk through Sarah P. Duke Gardens.

As I walked through this beautiful place, I wondered how many people had shared this setting to say I love you.
 The gardens were spectacular.

I stand corrected, I thought test were in the Lilac family, like back home, but they are Crape Myrtles.
Oh, and did I tell you that I have seen purple lilacs, white lilacs and shocking pink ones too.

I love bridges, and this one was so picturesque.
When I got closer, the attention to detail on this bridge was so lovely.  It reflected the nature around it in such a creative way.

Walking through these gardens inspired me so much.  I kept thinking about how I can incorporate these shapes into new fabrics.

We drove passed Spoonflower in Durham.  I am going to set up a tour soon, and I will take you along.

Water Lilies...is it any wonder that Monet was obsessed with painting them?

I would say that Duke Gardens

will probably be my favorite go to places while I am here.

Thank you for taking the walk with me through another delightful place to add to my Nesting in North Carolina journal.

I am linking to Mosaic Monday, hosted by Mary from Little Red House.  I have meandered enough this weekend, so tomorrow I declare a house day.

ohhhh...so pretty! I had no idea that lilacs grew that tall or in such a variety of colors. You have gathered quite a collection of NC gardens.

How fantastic these are, Karen! I've never been to this campus, but one would say you were in England!

So happy to see you blogging when you can. You are a dear. Anita

Just absolutely stunning image shares... so beautiful. I had a friend that visited this same place several years ago, but took hardly any photographs, but purchased postcards...I love these so much better. They are delicate and so nice to see the varied colours used, along with textures. The water gardens sure would be a nice touch to add if I could...but am thinking the local water birds here would make a huge mess. Thank you for gifting us with this post~
