Please Don't Eat The Daisies

Montauk daisies have always been my favorite kind of daisies. They bloom in October and they can be found all over Long Island.

Montauk Daisies

daisy-happy-faceWhen I first arrived here, I went to look for them, and some nurseries didn't know what I meant, and other nurseries had all kinds but no Montauk Daisies.

Montauk Daisies

You can imagine my surprise when I stopped by the incredible Idylwilde Farms and saw them peeking their lovely friendly heads amongst all the mums.

Sam and Cocoa

My mother had given these daisies to me when I first moved to Princeton, New Jersey and she was still living out at the tip of Long Island. Over the years they grew to be a huge bush of daisies.

Montauk Daisies

Montauk Daisies

These friendly faces got me to thinking about what a lovely day it is, and I think I will pack up all my troubles and go for a ride.

Montauk Daisies

daisy-happy-faceThese days things are just too overwhelming. Maybe these little faces remind me that like Grandma used to say "This too shall pass!"

My creation

The song for this post is Packing Blankets. Grandma's little sister, Adelaide loved daisies too.

I have to admit that I haven't heard of Montauk daisies. I wonder if they will grow in Michigan?

Those daisys are so fun! They must be perrenials, right? Are they green all summer and then just bloom in October?

When I saw the first pic, all I could see was the upper half of the pic and I thought, wow, someone has beautiful blonde hair! Then the rest of the pic downloaded and I saw that it was your dog! lol

Those daisies are lovely. I think they are cheerful flowers!
