"Color or colour is the visual perceptual property corresponding in humans to the categories called red, yellow, blue and others. Color derives from the spectrum of light (distribution of light energy versus wavelength) interacting in the eye with the spectral sensitivities of the light receptors. " Wikipedia
Oh, I love bright, vibrant color, patterns,
and textures that create a tapestry, celebrating all of the colors in the rainbow.
I found this incredible book by Tricia Guild called Patterns.
The colors, patterns and designs made me fall in love immediately.
As I sat browsing through this celebration of design and color, I wondered what her web site or blog might look like.
So, I sat down at the computer and googled away. In search of her web site, I stumbled upon a colorful and vibrant blog.
The first post I found about Tricia, was on Artnlight
Artnlight is written by Vineeta, who is from Mumbia, India,
and she fills her blog with posts that are colorful, and filled with gorgeous designs and interesting places.
Another colorful post that Vineeta wrote was about a movie called Jodhaa Akbar.
The movie, “Jodhaa Akbar is the story about the greatest Mughal Emperor who ruled Hindustan (now India). Set in the sixteenth century this romance begins as a marriage between two cultures and religions.” I looked at the trailer and I was captivated by the vibrant colors and interesting story.
Still on my search for Tricia Guild’s blog, I then stumbled upon another colorful blog filled with French inspiration called Tete-A-Tete. Lisette writes that Tricia Guild is the Queen of Color. So nice that she agrees. Here is a post that she wrote about Tricia Guild.
So, in my quest to find her website, I learned that Tricia Guild is the owner of the Designers Guild
The Designers Guild have showrooms in London, Paris, Munich and a category called the Rest of The World.
Colorful places like A Whimsical Bohemian, who just published a post about COLOR, A Fanciful Twist who just posted about her colorful creations, and Faerie Enchantment who wrote about the most charming and colorful music video for you to listen to...as you can see these ladies are a daily visit for me.
Speaking of India, Color and beautiful, my friend Amisha from Gorgeous and Fun, just painted a gorgeous Green silk scarf.
I hope that your day is filled with vibrant details and colorful memories,
and that you enjoyed listening to Rod Steward sing while Stevie Wonder plays the music to...

Karen,
What a wonderful post on color. The colors are so striking. I love color but I also love the crispness of white with the right shade of gray.
