Serendipity

serendipity-11

100_4260According to Wikipedia, "the word Serendipity is the effect by which one accidentally discovers something fortunate, especially while looking for something else entirely."

serendipity-12-thumbnailOne of my favorite restaurants in Manhattan is called Serendipity and my favorite movie Serendipity had scenes in this very restaurant.

serendipity-12-thumbnailYesterday was a serendipitous kind of day.

serendipity-12-thumbnail

serendipity-12-thumbnailI had taken a drive to visit one of my favorite art shops. Next-door I spotted the shop called Special Teas.

serendipity-25

serendipity-12-thumbnailI had never been inside and I thought that I might go in and buy some black tea.

100_4275

serendipity-12-thumbnailOnce I was inside, I realized that they served a full lunch and tea menu.

serendipity-21

serendipity-23

serendipity-12-thumbnailThe ladies were so kind and suggested I have a peek around and if I wanted to have something to eat they could find a table.

100_4269

serendipity-8

serendipity-12-thumbnailI had a look around and was totally enchanted. I went to the car to get my book and when I returned, I was escorted to one of the three charming rooms.

serendipity-18

100_4270Twinkle lights decorated cozy corners, desserts were lined up and beautifully displayed on the server in the main dining room. I thought everything looked so enchanting. The sign hanging above the delicious cakes and pastries says:

"Did you know that the word Stressed spelled backwards, spells Desserts?"

serendipity-5

serendipity-12-thumbnailAs I walked into the corner room I noticed there was a fireplace.

serendipity-9

serendipity-12-thumbnailAll of a sudden, the painting hung over the mantel caught my eye.

serendipity-19

serendipity-12-thumbnailIt was a canvas that I had created for Cafe on the Common. I said "I painted that painting." The waitress explained that when Cafe on the Common closed their doors, Trish, the owner had given it to the owner of Special Teas.

serendipity-14

serendipity-12-thumbnailI sat down and couldn't believe my eyes. Serendipity had brought me to this place and here into this very room.

serendipity-3

serendipity-12-thumbnailI looked out the window and could see a pond with lily pads.

serendipity-15

serendipity-12-thumbnailThe setting was so enchanting.

serendipity-16

100_4260I enjoyed a delicious salad and a glass of black iced tea. For dessert I tried their homemade blackberry cobbler topped with fresh whipped cream. Lunch was delicious and the setting was dreamy and magical.

100_4260The song for this post is When You Know, from my favorite, favorite movie Serendipity.

serendipity-10I love the meaning of the word Serendipity, the restaurant and the movie. I think that God's definition of this word might be that serendipity is when God blesses us with something unexpected while we are looking for something else to remind us that we are never alone.

100_4268

serendipity-3You know that feeling, which makes you stop and realize that we are being led to our heart's desire from above. I have heard that this is called a "God Wink." All that I know is that God loves us so much that He is even found in the little things.

When I arrived back home, I had received an e-mail from Tales From Twisty Lane. Snap had featured me as Blog of The Week. I was so encouraged, what a lovely thing to do. Thank you so much Snap.

Today is Hopeful Friday over at Cielo's beautiful House In The Roses. Please stop by HERE and see all of her beautiful collection of inspired and hopeful posts. If you have one you would like to share just add your URL to Mr. Linky.

My serendipitous day this week was my most hopeful day of all. Instead of writing a new one I added this one to beautiful Cielo's Hope celebration.

Wishing you a Hopeful Friday.

Abundance

Abundance is available in my shop, printed professionally on fine art watercolor paper measuring 12 x 18 inches with a white border for framing. Abundance is also available in all sizes and can be printed on watercolor paper to frame under glass, or printed on a canvas. I can have my printer, Ditto Editions create their magic. The one hanging in Special Teas was enhanced by me painting details over the giclee' print, using the finest archival paint.

Nothing in a Christians life is by accident, especially if you have asked the father to lead and guide you...this morning I checked on my dear long time (since 5th grade) friend Janet, on The Lavendar Loft and I found YOU! God is so good, I put you on my favorites list and I will be back when I have LOTS of time to take in all the wonderful info on your blog. I love that the Lord lead you into that tea shop where you found your painting "God Wink" indeed. BE BLESSED

Karen, this looks like a gorgeous tearoom. How wonderful that you spotted one of your beautiful paintings there.

There are 2 tearooms here in NY where I live, that my husband and I go to all the time. I love the atmosphere, food and of course, the teas.

I know it is something you would love to be a part of...magic and whimsy. Come visit me and click on the link on my sidebar. :) xo Lynn

What a beautiful post again Karen. I love the word serendipity now as well. To a non English speaker it is sometimes difficult to capture the translation of a word that suddenly pops up everywhere. You did a marvelous job. I love your painting!

Every corner looks, like you said, so enchanting. God works in magical ways and makes no mistakes on our journey. So happy for you that you found this place. Your lunch sounds delish too.

Ahhh, serendipity. I have not previously heard of "God's wink" but I feel so very blessed whenever I feel God, and the angels, winking and blinking down on me.
Thank you Karen, for sharing your lovely day with us.

What a wonderful post. God does work in mysterious ways His wonders to perform. His blessings are all around us if we would but open our eyes and hearts and ears.

Your painting is lovely and it looks wonderful in it's new home.

I just loved your post Karen! Serendipity. What a lovely word ♥ I couldn't even begin to imagine how special it must have been to see one of your very own paintings in a shop you had never been to. How wonderful is that! I love the button you created for Cielo. Is everyone who does a Hopeful Friday post free to use it? I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

What an inspiring story...I can only image your experience, step by step, as God peeled back the layers one at a time and lead you down the street, to the tea room and finally to the very painting you painted so creatively displayed to welcome each visitor dining and take tea.
What a wonderful serendipitous happening!
