A Celebration at A Scrapbook of Inspiration

There is a celebration today at A Scrapbook of Inspiration.
I have been designing material and sending for swatches for a year now. Exactly one year ago I designed my first fabric. You could hear my squeal all through The Land of Blog when the first fabric arrived.
Sometimes I was so frustrated because I really wanted to design material, and I needed to learn how to take my artwork and convert it to the rules of fabric. I have learned many things on this journey. Here's my current experiment, designing companion materials.

I often admire those people who can create geometric pattern magic. I continue to learn something new every day.
Each month I would design something new and send for a swatch. It took many tries and many conversions to make my designs read correctly on fabric. In the process I was learning how to use Photoshop software to make that vision happen.

Welcome to my fabric designs for sale at Spoonflower Fabrics. I will be adding more and more fabrics for sale. You can place your order for any fabric for sale there. Spoonflower fabrics are dreamy and they offer many layouts for each design as well.
You all inspire me so much. So many of you sew and although I would love it if I could.

I am as happy as a clam creating fabrics for those who can. I want to create one-of-a-kind designs for seamstresses and those lovely crafty people too.
What have I learned from this year of trying a new skill? I have learned that Dreams can come true, if you are willing to learn new things no matter how old you are.

Congatulations! What an accomplishment that must be to see your designs come to this. I am trying to learn Photoshop & I can tell you that if you have that accomplished than you are wayyyyyyyyyyy ahead of me. It is so frustrating. And I want to learn it so much!
Your fabric is beautiful Karen. Bravo!
Congratulations, Karen! Dreams really do come true!
Hi Karen, Congrats on your fabric designing dreams coming true. I love your work and for so many to create with your designed on fabric is a treasure.

lovely Karen !
Congrats to you Karen and of course congrats to all of us, while you never cease to inspire us, with your art and your thoughts!
OOOOOH Karen I LOVE your fabrics! I am going to rack my brain to come up with a way to use some in a project. I hung the cute little witch on Kate's bedroom mirror. She just adores it. It actually looks a little like her. Now she'll have her own little Halloween tradition.
Hi Karen, and Congratulations. I know this was a labor of love for you and your designs show that so well. Your determination and strength in perserverance is an inspiration to us all who think we're either too old, or too something else to go for our unfulfilled dreams. Thanks for sharing, and your designs are glorious. Mollye
Congratulations on designing the fabric Karen. That is amazing and I know you must be very excited. I've often wondered how people design fabric. it's something I think I'd like to try one day!
