Every Wednesday Susan from A Southern Daydreamer hosts Outdoor Wednesday. An opportunity to visit the outdoors in other parts of the globe without making reservations.
Our nearest lake is just a walk down the hill from our home.
Time to hang up the row boats...
Warm Autumn days are ending.
I love photographing the lake,
It's hard to believe that soon they will be ice fishing here,
and the sound of snow mobiles will be heard, and ice skaters will be skating.
Today it was pretty warm, hundreds of lady bugs hatched and were flying everywhere.
But just on Sunday we had a bit of snow already.
The snowflakes were so large, some of them almost looked like they were in the shape of a heart floating down.
The song for this post is The Great Pumpkin Waltz.
Ah, again, wonderful photos capturing my fondest memories of living in New England...my first snow, my first time ice skating on a real pond and more. Thank you sweet lady!!! Anita
Your photos are wonderful. The lake looks so tranquil with fall color surrounding it. I especially loved the shot of the early snowfall. Have a great week and enjoy Outdoor Wednesday.
Your lake photos are gorgeous Karen! We had lots of ladybugs yesterday too ... they were everywhere!! I can't believe you've had snow already ... thankfully we haven't had a flake ... YET. :)
I enjoyed looking at your colorful photos today. I think Mother Nature is going a bit nutty with snow already. Oh how I wish we could all keep those boats on the lakes all year long instead of snow mobiles:) Joyce
Beautiful picture Karen, although I am having a hard time looking at the snow~ shudder!~ We had a ladybug day yesterday. One of our last warm days, and it seems to really bring them out.
OMG! we have ladybugs everywhere, too! so funny to read that on your post. good things for ladybugs that they are "packaged" so cute -- no one seems to mind them. now if they weren't so cute ... might be a different story!
beautiful photos, of course! like i always say: new england tourism council! LOL
Beautiful photos! I love fall. I can't believe you have had snow already! We rarely see it here in the south :(
Absolutely gorgeous outdoor! I enjoyed the delightful scenes. thank you for sharing.
How beautiful! I grew up on a lake in Michigan and I remember how quickly it goes from autumn beauty to frozen winter.
My sister is visiting from Florida and we went apple picking today. The higher elevations had snow on Sunday, but we just had frost.
Hugs,
Penny
Hi Karen
It looks so beautiful and serene there on your lake. I love the pretty colored upside down canoes!
We ares till waiting for autumn's colors to arrive here in NYC...it's late this year!
Happy Outdoor Wednesday!
Oh no, I am NOT ready for snow yet. Glad it was you and not me.
Hey Girl!!
Fantastic shots -- the reflection on the lake was awesome.
