Praise for Sunday

The Lord of Nazareth patternsMy sister, Susan and I have parallel lives in so many ways.  We both love the Lord.  Susan led me to Christ through her prayers in 1982.  She also led my mom and my sister, Lynne to Christ.

The Lord of Nazareth patternsSusan and I both have a love for the Bible and enjoy learning about the Jewish Holy days and the words we find in scripture and their meaning in Hebrew.  We share the belief that this truly adds the depth to the scriptures that we crave.

The Lord of Nazareth patternsMost recently I have felt a strong calling to paint in watercolor again, and Susan has felt the same calling to knit again.  As she said yesterday, for His Glory this time.
The Lord of Nazareth patternsWe were talking on Saturday and she introduced me to the music of Paul Wilbur.  The song seems to express the very lessons we are covering in our Bible Study at my church.

The Lord of Nazareth patternsWhen I heard this song, it seemed the perfect way to praise Him on a Sunday.

HERE ARE THE LYRICS TO THIS SONG:
Lord God of Abraham
Isaac and Israel
Let it be known today that You are God
We offer up our lives
As a living sacrifice
Purify us with Your holy fire
Holy fire

You are the holy One
Highly exalted One
We’ve come to worship at Your holy hill
You are the holy One
Highly exalted One
And we surrender to Your sovereign will
O Lord God of Abraham

Lord God of Abraham
Isaac and Israel
Let it be known today that You are God
Come now and fill this place
Be exalted in our praise
Let it be known today that You are God
You are God

For the Lord He is God
For the Lord He is God
And He shall reign forevermore

The song for this post is sung by Paul Wilbur and the name of the song is Lord God of Abraham.

I love the sound of the Shofar, which is what you hear at the beginning and the end of this song. The Shofar is known best for being played on Rosh Hashanah, but is one of the earliest musical instruments played in worship.

Brushstrokes of Praise

All of the artwork that I created in this post is my gift to you to take home.

Before I went to sleep one evening I spent time in worship.  That evening the Lord gave me these images in a dream.  There was a multitude of people, we were all wearing white robes, with gold sashes around our waist.  We were carrying prayer cloths and standing on this hill before the temple, waiting for Jesus to come out and be with us.  (The hill I saw in my dream in Jerusalem was the same one shown on Paul Wilbur's CD).  In the dream, we were all praising the Lord.  I awoke still saying the words,
Lord of Nazareth.

The Great Multitude in White Robes

"After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands."
Revelations 7:9

Your artwork is so creative and I have always known that you create for Him. It's also nice to read about your testimony and how you came to the Lord. Wonderful sister you have there who was willing to be open...sometimes it is not easy. It certainly shows the love that she had and has for her family. So to you all — happy creating for His glory!

Very inspiring Karen. The sound at the beginning of the song seems to touch my core. Very few pieces of music do that so I felt it.

Your works are always something to behold so I am always thankful to you for sharing your gifts.

THIS is going to be a moment in all of our existences that will be the grandest "fairytale" of all, but indeed will be more REALITY than any lucid moment we have had on this earth. I am blessed and taken back by this superb post my dear friend. Thank you for being the angel to me that you have always been, since the very beginning. Friends unfortunately come and go, and that is normal, but thank YOU for sticking with me since my early days of blogging, now two years coming this January. Through this time, your kindnesses have blessed me, your love for the Lord encouraged me, and your encouragement to me to further the gifts within me has been the sweetest earthly gift that has eternal implications. What we do now in His name will ring throughout eternity. Que le Seigneur te bénisse ma chère Karen! Anita
