I love birds, I have a real bird...Nina, the parrot. She is a cutie but camera shy. Birds represent freedom to me and I think we all want to feel that. And when they nest to raise their young, that is our maternal side. {this is my feeble attempt at making sense of why I love birds so!}.

Thanks for the link to Gennine's blog...I will pay her a visit!

Have a great day, Karen!

XO,
Jane

Gennine is even famous here Karen! A magazine has asked her to do some artwork for them, I cannot wait to see it.
I love this post! I have something with birds too. Now I'm making a bird pendant/bunting for a friend of mine.
How are you doing, hope all is well in your neck of the woods!

Hi Karen,
Am I the only one on this earth that is frightened of birds...ever since I was a little girl and watched "The Birds" by Hitchcock.
The only birds I'm not scared of are doves and humming birds...I'm such a wimp......LOL
Karen your art is beautiful!!!
Have a sweet day and hugs, Elizabeth

I always race over here after I get off from work and I somehow get re-energized. Birds are so beautiful and I have several of them around my home. I recently placed two little ones in my Fall centerpiece on my table. I need to place some bird feeders outside so I can enjoy sitting out back and watch them fly back and forth.

Hi Karen,

Oh my - I love birds - they add so much life to the garden as well as to the home. Your fabric bird is so charming and your photographs are fabulous.
Thank you for your lovely comments on my blog about my art. I have never thought about licensing my art - don't know where to start looking into it - thank you for the suggestion.
Have a wonderful day.
Blessings,
Erin

Oh Karen....another favorite subject of mine...LES OISEAUX. And that little couch with the fabric .....oh THAT LOOKS FAMILIAR! I have not attempted to cover my harp bench yet; I am enjoying MY FABRIC WAY TO MUCH AS A THROW Over my new white settee! It looks just perfect. Lots of love, Anita

Karen, this is fabulous! I looked at all the fabric, and I love it! You are so talented and so sweet. It just radiates through every post.

I had a cute bird pay a visit the other day, and he perched for a drink on the side of the fountain. I will post his conversation with the fountain boy at some point. ;-)

Love to you, dear Karen, on this day and every day...

XO,

Sheila :-)

Karen I love all the birds in this sweet post! Whenever I see birds lined up on telephone wires I think they look like musical notes.

The migration seems to slower this year. By this time of the year my park is usually full of geese flying south. hardly one has stopped by as yet!

Enjoy all the birdsong!

Love to watch the birds.. I once saw a flock of birds fly into a barren tree and when they settled it looked like the tree had leaves again.

I also watched a flock of robins take up a whole block after a rain when we were in Florida. To flow through the air like they do..what an adventure that would be.

Oh, Karen. That is so calming to me tonight. I love birds (except for the Hitchcock movie which put a damper on my love for years) and I adore your visual essays. Just beautiful work!

Suz
