I went shopping for inspiration the other day. I had to use my cell phone to take the photos because I had forgotten my camera.
First I went to the public library and reserved tickets to the
Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
Can you believe this installation. Every branch is made of hand-blown glass. This was the view from the second floor. Many beautiful Contemporary pieces can be found throughout the new wing.
People visiting the museum seemed to be inspired by the beautiful flower arrangements everywhere.
There are some
wonderful current exhibits. What a gorgeous museum, Filled with room inspiration from every period.
Aren't these colors so pretty?
Oooh, I'll take one of these beds please...
This American furniture looks very French inspired.
This chair is back in style now, I have this style chair in my guest room. I just loved the long apron.
Of course I spent some time
rummaging through the book store. Then I went over to the contemporary exhibits, and a bit of fashion, I love the 50's fashion,
and 50's everything really...
Oh look there are some cell phones, not...but I think I saw these in a James Bond movie once.
I am so in love with portraits.
When I was a young girl I spent entire days roaming the
Metropolitan Museum of Art just staring at the portraits. A few years ago I went to the
museum at Christmas.
When I visited London, I was in heaven at the
National Portrait Museum. We ate at the cafe on the top floor overlooking the rooftops. I almost expected Chimney Sweeps to be dancing to the music from Mary Poppins.
The Boston Museum certainly has a lovely collection of portraits.
These two were amazing...
The
Hong Kong Museum of Art overlooks Victoria Harbor. Once upon a time, I took my girls when Sarah was just four and Ashley was two. I told Sarah to look out the window overlooking a busy harbor and memorize the moment. She says that she still remembers that day, and so do I.
I rather liked this one and the lighting was magnificent.
Oh yes, they have a lovely gift shop too and gardens everywhere.
It reminds me a bit of the
Royal Ontario Museum of Art in Toronto. I saw my first exhibition of angels there and the portraits were amazing.
and children's artwork too.
I went shopping for inspiration and I brought home lots of ideas, with patterns dancing in my head. Thanks to the library, it was a very affordable adventure.
I can't wait for
the upcoming exhibits, and next time I'll bring my good camera. The music for this post is
Life Inspiration, and the video holds some special inspiration too.
