New England Inspiration

hen I moved to Massachusetts from Toronto, I had been gone from the States for ten years. Five years spent in Canada and five years prior to that chapter in Hong Kong.

I was lost at first and so lonely. Gradually I started to find my way around, and something magical happened... I fell in love with New England, especially Massachusetts.

Today is Texture Tuesday at Kim Klassen's Cafe.  I chose some photos I took while taking A Drive in The Country on Sunday celebrating the beautiful Springlike day.  It's another Free and Easy eDition at Kim's Cafe.

Here is my texture recipe.  I just love how the textures really match that New Englandy feeling.

I guess you could say, I found my love for New England just in time to make me feel at home.  Then I discovered blogging and found you to share this beautiful part of the world with, and every day is like a holiday.

The song for this post is Just In Time sung by Tony Bennett and Michael Buble.

The photos on this blog were taken in Sudbury, Massachusetts.  Top right is Wayside Inn Grist Mill, bottom left is Longfellow's  Wayside Inn, and that delightful church is the Martha-Mary Chapel.

This Chapel is gorgeous, many people have their weddings there and enjoy the grounds for their wedding photos.  It has been the backdrop for so many movies including Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.   I found a post written on An Enchanted Cottage.

Your photos are beautiful. I remember as a child going on camping trips through out New England. I loved it there and would love to visit New England again some day.

Good morning, dear Karen. This post touches my heart. I long to visit New England some day, and I know I will love it, too.

It took me a while to adapt when we moved here from south Florida, but now I love it. There are so many lovely places to visit and beautiful scenes to enjoy.

I loved this post so very much! I too have a strong passion for New England, especially Massachusetts and my home for five years, Cape Cod. Your last two posts have inspired me to go back to writing about my experiences living on the Cape. Sheesh...now I'm crying.

Thank you for sharing your photos and words.

Good morning Karen, It was so nice to hear from you. Your story of settling in New England is so charming. We feel that way about Western Carolina in the beautiful mountains. We are blessed to find a place where we feel we are "home."

I love your photos as always. I would love to visit there so much. Maybe one day.
Happy Springs days to you and yours.
xo Jeanne

Beautiful, Karen! I am glad you found your place there. It is awful to move somewhere and feel disconnected. That has happened to me a couple of times in my life. Your post today is wonderful. xo Diana

Karen, your gorgeous post makes me want to go to New England now. I haven't been there since I was 12. A while...yes...lol!
I was a returning American too. I lived in Ontario for over 20 years before returning home. I has taken me some time to figure out where I belong here. But I love where I am now.
Hugs,
Terri

Love the mosaic. The blues in these images are just breathtaking. My favorite color. Glad you are home in New England-a place I want to visit someday.
