Alice in Virtual Land

Well, I feel a bit starry eyed like Alice in Wonderland today.  When that happens, I put on some dreamy music, like Diana Krall.  I just follow where my creative muse might take me.

Like today, I was feeling a bit starry eyed.  So, I clicked on a link, which led me to a wonderful blog called Bloom.  Which led me to her post about the Australian magazine Australian Homespun.

Now that really got my attention because for some reason my fabrics are popular in Australia.  I have more customers from there than anywhere else.

I am always looking for Australian fabric and quilting magazines to keep up with the fabric trends there.  They are pricey with the magazine postage, of course.

Sooooo, getting back to my story.  I clicked on Bloom's suggestion called Zinio.  I was able to purchase the magazine edition I wanted for just $3.66.

It's not sitting with stacks and stacks of magazines, which I promise to purge, but never do.  No no, my new magazine is sitting in my favorite place, my virtual world.

So, when I want to look at my copy of Australian Homespun and read about Wombat World fabric in this issue of the magazine, I can go to Zinio wearing my pj's and sipping a nice cup of coffee, hot chocolate or tea.

Today is Mosaic Monday and I would like to add my mosaic of snowy dreams to Mary's inspiration from Little Red House.

Some days pj' s and coffee and a good magazine (online or paper) is my idea of heaven. Imagine - more sales to Australia than anywhere else!

Beautiful photos! That was a great price. I find that I do better reading and looking at things online that sitting down with an actual magazine :)

Australia is a big quilting country and your fabric designs are gorgeous, so they go hand in hand. In my opinion. I love your Dreamy mosaic. Hope you have a wonderful week.

Well now, I'm crazy, but that sounds steep to me. I was truly hoping that I could find an online subscription for a year for that price. Yes, my name is Vee and I am cheap. I'm finding my kicks on Gutenberg.org for online reading. Ridiculous. Of course, since you're using it as a resource, it really is inexpensive.

Your images today are gorgeous and oh, soooo dreamy.

Inspiration comes from all kinds of places and it doesn't matter where but isn't it nice that it does. Valerie

I think newspapers and magazines are all headed to be on-line reading in the future. As long as the price reflects the lower cost to produce.
Congrats on having your material a big hit in Australia.

KAREN!!!!!!!!!!

I wish you could know how I feel every time I get your comment. To hear such kind support from YOU....an artist, make me feel great. I have to keep on DRAWING and DRAWING until my hands get the feel. I have made some decisions over the last month about what direction to follow for now and illustrating and keeping my Etsy running is where I can make the best of my time and income. But the fun and personal growth is worth much more...not to mention the support from you!

MUCH LOVE, Anita
