Blogging, a multimedia design

Mister Bluejay

“I want all my senses engaged. Let me absorb the world's variety and uniqueness.” Maya Angelou

I had no idea of the wealth of inspiration I was about to receive during this first year of blogging by kindred spirits who share my joy. When I named my blog A Scrapbook of Inspiration, the intent was to share all that I write, paint and create. The inspiration I have received is so much more than I imagined possible. There are so many avenues to visit, so many resources, beautiful images and friends to choose from, it is hard to contain my joy.

I love the idea of creative challenges, swaps, virtual parties, tours, interviews, podcasts and blogging adventures in other parts of the globe. Composing a creation on my blog has given new meaning to the term multimedia and serves as a platform that can combine so many elements of design. I love definitions and when I looked up the word Multimedia in Wikipedia, this is what was described:

" The term multimedia art implies a broader scope than mixed media, combining visual art with non-visual elements (such as recorded sound, for example) or with elements of the other arts (such as literature, drama, dance, motion graphics, music, or interactivity).”

Portrait BrightNow I have always loved layering details to give a collage the most texture I could build. Embellishment is my middle name. Yet adding the dimension of interacting with people, writing, finding the perfect song, a resource, a beautiful image and something thought-provoking is more depth than I could have ever imagined. I think that blogging is the element of texture that was missing. It provides the dimension to my own creative life that rekindles the creative muse within daily.

Better than a box of chocolates, a soak in the tub or a frivolous shopping spree, the gift of inspiration to the creative sparks inner joy. That is exactly how I felt when I opened the secret garden of creativity inspired by Teresea McFayden of the blog entitled My Minutia.. I treated myself this month to join the Winter Bella E-zine , and received the key to opening up this secret garden of creativity. The creative challenges and inspirational tips presented by Teresea, will be adding a magical layer to my world this season. I am in awe of creative people like Teresea, the Founder of Paper Bella Studio, Silver Bella, Sparkle Bella and original Founder of Foof a La.. Featured in the first edition of Artful Blogging magazine, she seems to not only create wonderful treasures, teach the elements of that design but finds new ways to share her adventures in the art world.

Travel in BloglandI think what I enjoy about blogging is that it gives me the ability to sample all aspects of creativity in this magical buffet of inspiration. Some days I spend more time reading and exploring new blogs than writing my own. I love that as my world of family, nurturing and the details of everyday life whirl through my days...I have a secret corner where I can retreat and renew my creative energy. A place where the feedback I once lacked is blanketed now with kind words, encouragement, and new ideas while my talents and skills are challenged.

Before I started to blog, the effort of artist dates, writing, and projects on the calendar for the next occasion kept me inspired and working at my art. In contrast, blogging is the effortless exchange of creativity and inspiration that renews my spirit and provides me with a life mosaic textured with joy.
