Nesting in Blogland

Nesting In New England

This morning I popped on my blog and read that Kate of Our Red House from Melbourne, Australia had tagged me to play a game. The game is Ten Reasons I Like To Blog. When I first met Kate, I read what she wrote when describing herself:

"I am a mother of four living in southern Australia. I love the smell of clean sheets dried outdoors and lavender under my pillow, the freshly-turned soil in my vegetable patch and well-loved old books. Our house is filled with the aromas of fresh-ground coffee brewing on the stove and cupcakes cooling on the kitchen bench. Welcome to our red house."

Ten reasons that I like to blog, I can think of a hundred, but the first thing that comes to mind is meeting so many kindred spirits. Reading lovely words like those belonging to Kate seem to resonate in my heart. Quickly you can visit someone’s blog and recognize how much you have in common. Here are ten more reasons why I like to Blog.

The art of being kind is all the world needs

top of fussie tussie mussieFirst, not since I was in Kindergarten and was thrilled to bring in my favorite things to share at Show and Tell, have I been so welcomed to share my favorite things. Just like today when Little Red House tagged me to play this game. In such a busy world with a gigantic “To Do” list, isn’t it grand to be asked to play a game that leads to sharing pieces of you that you usually keep to yourself. Pieces that before blogging I had forgotten about.

all my angels have red hairSecondly, the biggest reason is that I love to create, and blogging has given me the platform to take a bit of photography, some artwork, a little music and use this as a new medium to create. I get up most days inspired to create something special to share. Like the next eight reasons, which are words that describe why I love to blog, which just so happens to spell BLOGGING:

Bjanuey 31 post 7BEAUTIFUL. Blogging is a beautiful place to visit. The friends that I blog with are as beautiful as the beautiful places they create on their blogs.

LMy Grandmother's sister FrancesLOVING. No where else in the world do you find a community of people who leave encouraging words on a daily basis for one another. People write from their heart, create from their heart and touch my heart. The loving nature that I find daily visiting blogs throughout the world seems to be pure oxygen.

OWhen this you see remember meOPPORTUNITY. An opportunity to join in the large community of writers, artists and artisans in swaps, and challenges. Opportunities to network in a fabulous world of talented women. Opportunities to learn about things that I have never experienced before, and have questions answered that I didn’t even know to ask.

GButterfly JoyGORGEOUS. The photography and graphics on everyone’s blog are simply gorgeous. Gorgeous tours of people’s homes, gardens, and places that they love to visit.

GGoodies from TinselGENEROUS. Giving awards, sending little gifts, extending invitations, tagging you for a special occasion all spell Generous.

Iinspirations INSPIRATIONAL Whether I am reading a tutorial, joining a zine, or finding a new recipe, inspiration is everywhere in Blogland and available anytime night or day. I am inspired daily to create something wonderful for my post, as the creative muse continues to dance.

NLondon Book StoreNURTURING. Reading so many blogs, it is so clear that blogging friends are always ready to help one another in times of need. With a nurturing spirit and a word of encouragement, everyone feels safe to ask when they are in need.

GLondonGATHERING. There is a gathering of kindred spirits and a real sense of community amongst bloggers. Being an artist, a mother, and wife offers many gatherings in my day to day life, but the gathering I feel in Blogland gets to the heart of things on such a personal level.

Hope your Friday is full of bluebirds

The fun of being tagged to me, besides being inspired to create, is being able to tag others. So, to play the game Ten Reasons I Like To Blog, I tag:

Donna of Donna's Art in North Carolina.

Terisa of Sabii Wabi in Napa Valley, California.

Kathy of Shocking Pink Thread in Vermont.

Linda, from Many Things To Do in Queensland, Australia.

Rue of Rue's Peanut Butter and Jelly LIfe in Ohio.

Donna of Donna O'Brien from Wonderland.

The song for this post is You're The Cream In My Coffee.

Have a great day.

You have done such a beautiful job with this! I love how you added pictures.

My blog is "Our Red House" not "Little Red House", which I think is, in fact, a different blogger, so you might want to change that.

hugs,

Kate

Clever girl!! I love the word twist and all that you shared, Thanks for including me in the fun, I'll have to be honest in that I may not get to it with the real job thing, etc. But maybe down the road I'll complete it. Thanks Karen- you're a doll.

Very true - every word. But, my favorite part was the clever spin you used for your response.

Which is a perfect example of inspiration.
