DeCordova Sculpture Park, a walk in the park
Monday, July 28, 2008
One of the things on my "To Do" list this summer has been to visit many of the art museums in the area that I have wanted to visit. One of these museums is called The DeCordova Museum situated on gorgeous landscape, which is home to some pretty amazing sculpture.
My favorite sculptures in the park was this set of hearts.
As I got closer, I was amazed at the details and materials that were used to create this incredible creation.
Here are some bits of one of the hearts...
A walk along a stone path leads to these wonderful sculptures.
A Closer look into the details.
Adorable sculptures were in the Alice Park.
At first glance I thought I was seeing the Grinch...
As I went around the bend there was this trojan rooster.
The grounds are beautiful.
Such a lovely park and museum.
The museum is filled with Contemporary Art, and after I visited the museum I went for a stroll. I really went for a walk in the park, and instead I discovered some beautiful sculpture at DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum. The song for this post is an oldie, Sitting in the Park.
Speaking of sitting in the park. This is a photo of my Grandmother sitting in the park with her sister. I was very close to my Grandmother and I know that she would have adored this park. She lived to be eighty-nine years old and this month was her birthday, she would have been one hundred and seven years old.
Wow, what a beautiful place! Such interesting scultures. Thanks for the walk through.
What an incredible place! Some of those sculptures are pretty freaking, but some are just awesome! I like all the detail in the pair of hearts too. And I love that single head too. Looks very serene.

I like such an art walk very much. It is so inspiring! Thanks for your beautiful pictures again, also those detailed ones. That picture of your grandmother is great. About twenty years ago she couldn't have guessed that her picture is now travelling around the world to be enjoyed by numerous people.
This looks as if it was another perfect day. God's and man's creations to surround you in beauty, and to stimulate your senses.
Great exhibit in the park!!
And wonderful shot of your grandmother. You must cherish this photo!

I have been there many times and love it more each time I go...I will be in the Boston area the end of August...I feel another visit to the DeCordova coming up :)
I want that rooster for my kitchen! Oh, wait...no room. Maybe he could sit out on the deck and look through the kitchen window!
Hi Karen
