happy 4th of July

The Four of July brings parades, picnics, BBQ's and of course fireworks displays. I have been to some terrific fireworks over the years and of course the Boston Pops serenading the fireworks here in Boston is pretty special.

I have been to George Plimpton's fireworks extravaganza in the Hampton's, at the beaches in Cape Cod and underneath the stars in Vermont. I have been to the fireworks in New Jersey and in Pennsylvania and even in quaint sweet Maine. I have watched them from picnic blankets, sandy beaches, from the car window, from a ferry boat, sitting on a grassy hilltop, from the top of a skyscraper in Manhattan and from a park bench in Brooklyn. However, nothing, but nothing is as magical to me as the fireworks in Disneyland on the fourth of July.

I hope you have a lovely 4th of July. If you are in the States I am sure you will be finding fireworks nearby to attend. If you are elsewhere, I hope you enjoyed the video of the fireworks in Disneyland.

Listening to the voices of those three men, John, Bobby and Martin, reminded me of the hope that they instilled in all of us. I felt such a rush of emotion when I heard the voice of Martin Luther King and thought how his dream has come true this election year. How perfectly fitting to find a fireworks display held on the fourth of July in the magical land of dreams coming true.

I live in So. Calif. and you can see the fireworks at Disneyland from outside the park. They do put on quite a show! My husband works at Disneyland and we have passes but we don't go during the summer since it's so crowded.

I love to see the fireworks on the 4th but I haven't figured out where to go tomorrow.

Have a happy and safe 4th!
