Meeting "Creatives" here in Blogland is such a gift. I have been admiring my friend Gabriela Delworth's beautiful blog for some time now. Don't you just love her name? She is an incredible paper designer. She has been published in magazines, seen on Television in Canada and creates the most divine paper creations. In fact make sure you watch for her on on HGTV in the fall. She teaches classes in everything from creating crowns, to blogging. She has so many delightful inspirations on her blog. I love her new paperdolls and her framing is gorgeous. You must stop by and visit her. Gabriela recently taught at The Tinsel Trading Company and is always working on something magical.
When I contacted Gabriela and asked her what her secret was to her beautiful embellishments on her blog, she gave me lots of ideas. In fact, because of Gabriela, I am experimenting with digital scrapbooking and taking a class in Photoshop Elements 6. Here is the link to some of her lovely digital layouts on flickr.
I love creating scrapbooks, and I have enjoyed this hobby for years. When we lived in Hong Kong, the wide array of scrapbooking pages and embellishments weren't available. However, the Asian papers gave my scrapbooks just the right touch. Scrapbook albums were gorgeous from Japan and I loved keeping up with all the photos we seemed to be taking while we lived there.
Now I only wish I had known Gabriela when I lived in Toronto, we would have had a ball together! Here is a gallery of her incredible crown designs on flickr. She sells kits too, and you should see what adorable little crowns that she designs for your children and for your puppies...OMG.
At the moment, I am learning how to use Photoshop Elements 6 software and I have chosen to download some digital scrapbook backgrounds, embellishments and things. I love computer art, so to me this is better than a three ring circus. There sure is a great deal to learn, but I enjoy experimenting. The images on this post are me just playing around, but as soon as I finish this class and begin to understand the tricks to layering, I promise you lots of eye candy. Now if you are like me, and love learning about the latest in paper designs, or you just want an eye candy treat, please stop by and visit the talented Gabriela.
Ta Dah...thanks Gabriela!
The song for this post is sung by Gabriela's favorite singer, Michael Buble. I chose the song Everything because it just seems to be such a happy song to begin a Monday.
If I could wrap up your Monday with some magic, I would surely tie it with a bow!!!
