Hello Pink Saturday!!! Bev from How Sweet The Sound is hosting her weekly Pink Saturday. So, you can imagine how thrilled I was when a basket of pink things was left in my art room, while my daughter, Sarah updated her room.
I love it when my girls redecorate their rooms and bring me the remains of the day. Ultimately all these goodies end up in my art room. I love being surrounded my stuffed animals, objects and memorabilia from chapters of when they were little. They love it too, because they wouldn't part with these treasures for all the tea in China, and they know I will keep it safe for them. In the meantime, I really enjoy being surrounded by these things.
Then when I had a closer look at this totally fufu telephone, I thought this would look cute in the guest room.
My favorite telephone when I was a teen was my pink princess telephone, I think that is why I probably gave this to my daughter Sarah when she was younger. All that Ginger Rogers fur makes you feel so much like a princess.
As my teen girls reach to become young women, they discard the childish things and recreate their spaces with more mature treasures. I cherish all the chapters that I have enjoyed with them, so my overstuffed art room filled with memorabilia suits me just fine.
This photo was taken when Sarah was just four years old and her favorite color was pink. The song for this post is Return to Pooh Corner sung by Kenny Loggins. Every time I look at one of my girl's teddy bears or childhood memorabilia I return to those Winnie the Pooh days. Now, like the lyrics sing, I have wandered too far away, so I must travel back to Pink Saturday.

Hi Karen, I thought I would stop by for a visit & have so enjoyed both your "Pink Saturday" post!!!...(LOVE THAT FLUFFY LITTLE PHONE!!!!! Is there anything more feminine!!!!!)...& the wonderful piece about Loisa May Alcott & her home!!! I have never been there, so it was so interesting to be able to see her actual home & where her amazing books were written. Enjoy your evening!...Heidi XO
Charming! I love all your rosie treasures... I'd like to participate in this "Pink Saturday" game, but somehow I always forget; Maybe next week.
Have a lovely and blessed weekend, Karen.
That is the most awesome phone I have ever seen! Makes me think of glamorous Hollywood. Too fun! I love it in your guest room.
Thanks for the Kenny Loggins song. I loved Winnie the Pooh as a little girl (still do), and Loggins' gentle song always brings me back to that time.

Karen, I thought I heard ringing coming from a pink phone. That is so fun!!!
I, too, had a princess phone when I was growing up.
Thanks for making Pink Saturday fun.
I have never seen a phone like that. Does it tickle when you use it! I think it is wonderful the way you honor your children's treasures.
Happy Pink Saturday!
take care,
Dawn

Hello Karen!
I LOVE your PINK phone! I think all of us PINK Saturday girls need to get one! It's just so darn cute!!!
I also love the Little Women posting! I have the book and ALL the movies of Little Women dating back to 1933 with Kathryn Hupburn as Jo!

Happy pink Saturday!
That phone...a girls' dream come true!
That phone is fabulous....reminds me of one Elle Woods would have in Legally Blonde. When I was a kid I wanted a pink princess phone SO bad...the closest I came was one of those wee key chains. THEN just about 3 or 4 years ago I found one (real) on Ebay and NOW I finally have my pink princess phone. Better late than never, eh?
It's great you keep and reuse your children's treasures.

I think your fluffy pink phone is a Pink Saturday hit! I agree! Oh, I know what you mean about not being able to let go of the little bits and pieces of your kids childhood. I have boxes of "stuff"--from first soccer shoes and ballet slippers to diplomas. One day, I'm CERTAIN, they will appreciate the items I took the time to save.
Where are you taking your Photoshop Elements Class? I gave one to myself for Christmas and so far can only figure out basic editing. Good luck with it and Happiest of Pink Saturdays to YOU! DANA
I was wondering what that was and then read the blog post and was astounded that it was a "fur fone", my sweet furry chick!! How cute is that! And thank you for the kind comments on my chest of drawers I redid, chickee. I truly love and appreciate anyone willing to put up with my humor and misadventures on the blog.

Oh my goodness Karen! I have never seen a pink fur covered phone before. That's outrageous and I totally love it. I thought the Frenchie phone in my guest bedroom was over the top but you topped it by a mile. :) L
Hi Karen,
Just love your fluffy feminie phone! As a teenager I lived on the phone! If I have one like yours, I would have slept with it too! I would love to particapate in Pink Saturday, hopefully next week! Loved your Little Women post as the story was one of my favorites. I lived in New England for years and can't believe I never visted her home. I definitely will have to put this on my trip list!
