Thankful Thursday

One of my favorite people in Blogland, Rhondi from Rose Colored Glasses is hosting Thankful Thursday. For a long time now Rhondi has posted what she is thankful for every Thursday, and now she has invited us to join her.

This week I am especially thankful for learning about the secret of thanksgiving. Once, when I had lost my joy, I searched my faith for finding my way back to joy. Then, I heard a sermon about joy. In the middle of the sermon he said “If you want to get your joy back, re-joy.” RE-JOICE!"

This is exactly what a did, I had felt like I was just getting through the days, studying the Word, doing the right thing...waiting to feel joy. Feel joy? I remembered all the times that the Lord’s Word says that it doesn’t matter how you feel, we should count it all joy. But it was the pastor that said, "if you want to get your joy back, no matter how you are feeling rejoice" that defined the course of action for me. I have never looked back. No matter what I am feeling, I thank God and I have begun to see the joy of the Lord in everything around me.

I thank God for teaching me about the blessings of thanksgiving. When adversity is all around me, I thank God and trust that He has a reason. I am thankful for my faith and the teachings that allow me to walk in joy, no matter what my circumstances.

Now if you would like to join in, or if you would like to read the Thankful Thursday posts, just visit Rhondi at Rose Colored Glasses.

I think it is so important to look for the joy and rejoice in what we have. Praise God that we live in this great country and have homes and opportunity. If we look for the joy we will find it:>)

We must always count our blessings, even the small ones. So many are worse off then we are, no matter how low we feel.
