The Gift of Christmas, if only they had known,
The King was to be born to save the world,
They would have covered you in garments fit for a King,
Fabric woven with gold thread with the Word of God,
A crown of jewels would have adorned your head,
Blankets made from beautiful fabrics and embellished with lace and finery,
For your cradle.
Which would have been made from the finest gold,
They would have songs and hymns written to celebrate your birth,
Millions of people would have traveled to meet you,
Offering you many places to stay,
I ask you sweet Jesus to stay close by me forever,
And love me I pray,
I give you a place to live within my heart,
To praise you with my talents and voice lifted high,
You are the greatest gift
That our Father has given,
The only gift I need at Christmas...you are the greatest gift of all.
The song for this post is...
