World Treasures Party

World Santa 32Today Cielo from The House In The Roses is hosting a World Treasures Party. Thank you Cielo, you always host such wonderful parties filled with bloggers from around the world.

World Santa 26I chose my Santa collection to share with you today. Everyone knows I love Santas and I have received such special ones from friends and family over the years. My sister Susan has made some Santa designs too. I have collected Santas from everywhere, and each year floods of beautiful memories resurface as I decorate for the holidays.

World-Santa-18Finally one really special Santa story. When we were living in Hong Kong, my mother bought a beautiful Christmas Santa chess set in a store called Siebu. The store was Japanese and had the most gorgeous gifts at Christmas. In one of their showcases from America was this lovely chess set. My mother gave it to me the first Christmas we spent in Hong Kong.

Christmas Chess Set

Mery Christmas I have cherished it all these years, but to my surprise when we moved here, the company Villaincourt was nearby. I visited them one day and was thrilled to learn that Judy Villaincourt had designed this chalkware treasure and has since retired it to her museum. It is a small world after all.

White Christmas & Vintage SantasI guess you could say I have Santa love.

HI Karen! Oh, what wonderful Santas you have! I'm amazed at the variety and beauties of the little jolly red one!! I'm so sorry, I've had computer problems since Friday and have just now got my computer up and running again, so I didn't see your email. Would you send it to me again?

What a great collection. At first I though you would take us to a Museum, but it's at your place, you lucky girl. I see some of our Santa's too! I like that the international Santa and the Santa in time. Quite interesting too and beautiful, there will be no dull moment in your house having a Christmas party!

Karen-- I loved seeing your Santas. Thank you. I particularly adore Santas from the era of 1900 through the 1940s.
