Pink Saturday

The-Tightrope-Walker, originally uploaded by bluebirdsandteapots.

The-Tightrope-WalkerWhen I was in Kindergarten we put on a Circus show for our parents. I chose to be the tightrope walker. I can still remember the thrill of performing. I had a fascination for the idea of being able to walk and balance on that tiny rope with only a parasol to keep their balance. Years later I watched my daughters and their friends perform le cirque's Allegria in the backyard. We all love the magic of the circus

The-Tightrope-WalkerToday Is Pink Saturday and Bev from How Sweet The Sound is hosting the event. If you stop by HERE you will find lots of pink posts to celebrate Pink Saturday.

The-Tightrope-WalkerLisa Kettell from Faerie Enchantment has recently published a book called The Altered Art Circus. Inside she shares techniques for Journals, Paper Dolls, Art Cards and Assemblages. If you go to any book store or Lisa's blog you can purchase the book.

The-Tightrope-WalkerI was browsing the Barnes and Noble near me the other day, and squealed with delight when I saw the book.

The-Tightrope-WalkerI couldn't wait to come home and be inspired.

The-Tightrope-WalkerLori from Faerie Window is also featured in the book along with some other lovely artisans. I love Lori's work and her creations are gorgeous.

The-Tightrope-WalkerSo many pink treasures and designs to be found. Lisa is also hosting a swap and if you click HERE you can join in the circus fun.

Inspiration

The-Tightrope-WalkerAfter browsing the pages of The Altered Circus I was inspired to create The Tightrope Walker.

The-Tightrope-WalkerI hope you enjoyed the trip to the circus and that you take home some inspiration this Pink Saturday.

Whow what a beautiful post again Karen, my comments are like an old record player, when the needle got stuck, remember? Saying the same thing over and over again. There is a difference though; I really mean it, and I'm not stuck by accident! Every drawing of you is beautiful!
We are going to visit the States in Spring and I am going to buy that book too. The shipping costs are always so high, so I have to wait a couple of months.
Happy Pink Saturday!

Your blog stories, your artwork and the beautiful cards in this post are wonderful, so warm and yet magical too.

Thank You for all you do!

What a beautiful card. That sounds like such a fun theme for kindergarten. I am hoping that you didn't really walk a tight rope ☺.

The cards you made are so pretty!

take care,

Hi Karen!
sorry for the belated comment, but my laptop crashed this weekend so I'm trying to catch up for Pink Saturday.

I love your painting of the tight rope walker. I have to tell you that she looks like me when I was a little girl. I had the exact same hair-do. You always have such wonderful posts.
