Pink Bouquet Inspiration

My mom used to have this huge cookbook when I was little.  When I opened it up, the inside pages were covered in roses and hydrangeas.  To this day I get such a thrill when I see bouquets of pink roses and hydrangeas.

If you would like to listen to some music, just click play.

I was lost in photographing bouquets of pink flowers when I thought of you.

Bev, from How Sweet The Sound hosts Pink Saturday inspiration every week. So, I am linking up to share in our love of the color pink.

Then I got to thinking,  about creating a downloadable card filled with pink inspiration.

Your Pink Inspiration card measures 5" by 5".  This is shown as the front and the back of the card.  Here is the link to your downloadable Pink Inspiration.

Just print it out on an 8.5" x 11" letter size card stock and trim.  When you fold your card in half, the front will look like this, and the back will say "especially for you."  The inside is left blank for your own sentiments.

Sigh, pink roses and hydrangeas...

Meet me in the rose garden, even if only in my dreams.

We are expecting more snow this weekend. Me, you'll find me inside my home, sitting near the fire with my bouquets of pink flowers nearby.  I'll be sipping a cup of tea and dreaming of rose gardens.

Please take home any pink flower photographs that speak to your heart, from my bouquets on this post.

Bouquets of Pink Roses on a January day

Pink roses always make me smile.  Vee from A Haven from Vee also makes me smile.  She said that we always name storms, why don't we name the beautiful days.  Don't you love that thought?

I thought I would join Pink Saturday this weekend.  Bev from How Sweet The Sound always has such lovely pinks to share.

I found a lovely flower market in Harvard Square the other day.  It reminded me that Spring is just around the corner...punctuated by snowy days of course.

Once upon a time, I used to go to the flower market in Happy Valley in Hong Kong every morning. When I saw the flower market in Harvard Square it made me yearn to sit with a cup of tea and bring to mind some old memories of my walks to Happy Valley's market.

I wish I had taken photos to share with you.

Speaking of sharing, if any image that I have shared in this post speaks to your heart, please take it home.  Wishing you Bouquets of Pink Roses on a January day

Rainy day inspiration

It's a cold and rainy day here in New England.

My favorite rose garden to visit is on the Cape in Sandwich.  Part of the lovely Heritage Gardens.

These photos of their rose arbor are a reminder that the roses are probably tucked safely to rest during the Fall and Winter months.

At least we can bring pink roses inside to enjoy all year 'round.

I was going to go out, but I think I'll stay in and bake an apple pie instead.  I usually make my Grandmother's recipe.

But, the Pioneer Woman has a wonderful recipe for dreamy apple pie, on her blog.

Georgianna Lane's newsletter just arrived and the link to her website not only gives wonderful photography tips, a glimpse into her gorgeous new calendar,  but a pretty new texture for you to download.  I tried it out here...

When I opened up my front door to photograph the rainy day, I noticed that I have to change my wreath for Autumn.  This photo is from last year.
This music makes me want to make a fire in the fireplace and watch Deanna Durbin in an old movie singing Begin the Beguine.  This version is by Artie Shaw.

Today is Pink Saturday and Bev from How Sweet The Sound is hosting pink inspiration.

Roses, Presets, and Lightroom Inspiration

Well it all started when I discovered Pretty Presets for Lightroom.

I immediately went to their blog to see what it was that they were doing to create such beautiful photographs.  The above photo is my original photograph that I decided to enhance.

Here is one of the presets designed by Pretty Presets for Lightroom that I purchased.  They are called Spring Color Flare and Haze Collection.

And these two are my favorites.

As I woke up the other morning, I was hoping that Kim Klassen gave classes in Adobe Lightroom.  And she does.  I signed up for her class in September called ROUND TRIP.  Finally, here's a very pink  version of my photo for a very Happy Pink Saturday.

See You In September, one of my favorites when I was a teen.  I'll be waiting to learn more from some videos by Pretty Presets and Kim's class in September.

An Elephant named Lily

It all began one day when I found a watercolor painting I had done of pink Day Lilies.  I went to work with my digital paintbox and created a pattern.

I created Lily and that was only the beginning...

Suddenly design ideas were dancing all around, until finally there were fifteen designs in my collection.

When the fabric arrived I was so thrilled.  Here are the swatches that I photographed for a sampler listing.

Now I am in the process of adding each design to my Etsy shop.  Three listings down and a sampler listing...thirteen more listings to go.

I thought I would also share a video I like that Spoonflower created for a recent entry they did for Small Business.  It shows how the fabric is made and gives you a fun look into their operation.

Well, back to the drawing board with An Elephant named Lily.  Don't you just love Carlie Simon?

Don't forget today is Pink Saturday and Bev from How Sweet The Sound has lots of pink inspiration.
