I found an old portrait that I sketched and then painted. Funny but I just noticed how similar it is to a sketch that led me to want to be an artist. My grandfather found an old sketchbook in his basement that had belonged to the previous owner. He gave it to me, and I must have looked at that book hundreds of times. I was twelve years old and I believe that was what made me want to draw. Funny how it's the little things that lead us to our destiny in life.
The ease of Photoshop took me on a journey...
Through times long ago,
from doodling Breck Girls with my digital paints,
to creating girls wearing hats from another era.
I love dreaming of once upon a time.
Somewhere in time, these ladies lived...but if you have a use for any of the images just leave a comment and I will send you the file. Or simply highlight the image and flickr will let you download it. Dreaming of somewhere in time has endless possibilities.
The song for this post is Somewhere in Time.
I wonder if PaPa is watching from heaven and smiling. You know he wanted to be an artist and he would paint those paint by number paintings all the time. Papa would just love Photoshop! Someday Papa and I will have our easels right next to each other, and we will paint together in heaven.
Wow Karen, I'm blown away! LOL you said "ease of photoshop", hehehe, well I think I'll have to get that photoshop for dummies book :)
That photoshop is amazing along with your talent I am sure.
Photograph changing and possibilities, are amazing.
I love that turquoise version :)
I loved how you photoshopped your drawing. Gives it a few totally new dimensions. Have a great day!
These are so AWESOME!!! Love your inspirational work. Thanks so much for sharing!
I love all your ladies, they are lovely. Thank you for sharing them with us, hugs, Kathleen
Amazing! I have photo shop - just recently purchased it, but I have not had a chance to play with it yet. You are an expert at it! I remember the Breck commercials...
Hugs,
Penny
Sweet!
Karen,
I love your mom's advice about giving a gift when life seems hard. I am going to adopt that idea and use it in my life!
Thanks,
Dianne
