Blue Ribbons of Heart's Desire

bird-with-blue-ribbonsThere is a place within our hearts where hidden dreams live. No matter how old we are or what our position in life, those dreams fill us with joy. Sometimes those desires speak to us in the night during sweet dreams.

Pencil portrait

bird-with-blue-ribbonsI visited a nearby art gallery one day and fell in love with a portrait. The subject of the artist was her daughter. I studied the blue ribbons blowing in the breeze from the wedding veil. I was mesmerized, if only I could paint like that.

here-comes-the-brideSometimes when we take time to be alone with God and still our soul, whispers of how to fulfill those dreams suddenly are revealed. The song for this post is Be Still Thy Soul.

I believe we should never give up on our dreams. Each season of our lives provides opportunity for growth and learning and chances to make those dreams come true if we only try. I am so glad your dreams in painting have come true! My sister in law was just admiring your paintings on my wall this weekend:>)

Beautiful song, beautiful thoughts, which inspire me to ponder it again. I have no idea what my dream might be. Yes, it's painful to confess, but I am one of those middle-aged women who has not yet got a clue.
