Whether you find the shop in Falmouth on the Cape, or in your local area, Vintage shops are so much fun.

D's Home Again, East Falmouth Ma.

I've got my eye on an old typewriter in D'S Home Again

portrait-red-hair-aqua-ensembleOh, I can just see couples dancing to this music...oooh maybe we can take home their old victrola.

100_1352My favorite haunt is Nesting on Main in Concord, Ma. and now they have a video on their site that tours their shop and introduces you to the three ladies who run the shop. The video also gives a nice tour of this lovely and unusual little shop.

Sandra Dee prom dresses seem to be everywhere. Just the right accent for a guest room too. Unless that is you are able to find just the right occasion to wear one.

Oh, and a trip to Plum Island is always a nice place to find treasures.

vintage-skeleton-keyVintage treasures seem to hold the key to so many of our hearts. What do you love about Vintage treasures.

My sister, Susan has been finding beautiful Vintage fabrics and selling them by the yard on her Etsy Shop.

She is also creating sachets out of Vintage fabrics. She writes about it on her new blog Cottage Style Threads.

Speaking of Vintage, I love my friend Judy's new bracelet designs on JuJuz Beads, they have such a Vintage flair.

hether you take home a treasure to display in your house, the perfect Vintage blouse, or just go for a browse, Vintage is a bit like comfort food for the soul. Nesting is a woman's joy and nesting with Vintage is always a good idea.

I think it is the history in each piece, and for me, the idea that the vintage item is somewhat unique and unusual! I know that lots of antique shops carry the same tings but there is always a treasure that is one of a kind that can be found:>) I love to just look!

I want to go shopping with you! :D I think vintage, for me, means a simpler time, a time when people enjoyed being around people, listening to the radio and music ... NO TV!!! Yippeeee!

Hello sweet Karen! You have again brought back great memories of my time in Mass. Concord, Newburyport and the Cape. I loved Boston and Marblehead as well! Love and peace, Anita

One of my most favorite things to do when traveling is to pop into some vintage and antique shops. The ones in your area look lovely and if I ever get up that way, I am going to grab you and head out shopping!
Hugs,
Penny

Love the clever little telephone and key graphics. Oh I'd be sunk shopping in any of those lovely stores. I love the "one of a kind" quality that one gets at such a store.

I think part of the appeal of shopping for (and buying!) vintage things is the joy of "the hunt." It's not like walking into a department store where the items are basically what you'd find anywhere else. And also vintage items link us to our past: our memories, our heritage, and our own family history.
Fun post!

oh how i would LOVE to shop with you! your photos are FABULOUS and i LOVE your writing too! Karen, thank you for another AWESOME journey! i linger soo slowly, enjoying your blog!! :) Have a TERRIFIC day!!

Hi Karen, I would love to shop in anyone of those places. For me the appeal is history of where or whom might have used and loved the item. Giving an antique new life and a new home is so fun.

We love to stop off in our travels and visit areas with vintage shops.

Hope you had a great Mother's Day.
Hugs, Celestina Marie

Ooooooo!! ove your photos of vintage shops! Well, I think perhaps it is the mystery in each piece? The fact that they have a story?? I don't know... But it is a love of mine to the core, vintage and antiques shopping!! Yippeeeeee!

Oh I would love to go vintage shopping with you, what a fun post, I loved that clip! I think antiques and vintage items are just more beautiful, often cheaper and always something very much more unique considering todays mass production of 'deco-goods' and indeed more environment friendly. But first and foremost I love the beauty and the quality of vintage and antique items, using better materials like glass and wood instead of plastic.
