Daylily Delivery

DSC02564When I first drove down a country road a few years ago and spotted this truck filled with daylilies I just had to visit their farm.

My creation

The daylilies in my garden were purchased here, and they taught me how to select different types that bloom different times during the summer

My creation

DSC02568Every possible type of daylily can be found, and the owners are lovely people.

DSC02559There is a quaint little shop in the center of the garden filled with lovely treasures and creations.

DSC02563Shown here, Elaine and Carl Wickstrom can be found in their fields of beautiful flowers wearing garden hats and tending to their daylilies. Golden Skep Farm is located in Berlin, Massachusetts.

DSC02536

Elaine creates beautiful candles made from their own beeswax and beautiful cards.

My creation

After visiting, I took home this wonderful glass vase, just large enough to celebrate one daylily.

The song for this post is The Trip To Green Gables. Surely walking through these gardens makes you feel as if you might see Anne at any moment.

Such a lovely spot on earth! With that gorgeous red house and all those daylilies...I can certainly see why you stopped and shopped.

I could just get lost in a garden like that & never come back to reality... I am blessed with a wonderful neighbor that works for a bulb/plant company & he brings me day lilies plus numerous other plants for free! One couldn't ask for a better neighbor or a prettier selection...Your lily is gorgeous, I don't have that one but I do have star gazers..

Ooh I love lilies too, I told you that before, not to your surprise lol! That cottage surrounded by a million colors of lilies is indeed idyllic. Hope your day is at least as lovely!

Those first images look like they're from a movie..yes, Anne of Green Gables. That shot of the blueberries among the filed of flowers is soo beautiful I can almost feel the warmth of the sun and smell the flowers scent being carried in the wind..sigh..:)
Wonderful pics!!

What a treasure you have found in this charming family business. Your photo of the red house and surrounding gardens remind of Tasha Tudor's home.

Day lilies are a source of joy in my garden, as well.

Best Wishes,
Kay
