Outdoor Wednesday

MY BLOG IS UNFROZEN YAY!

Every Wednesday Susan from A Southern Daydreamer hosts Outdoor Wednesday. An opportunity to visit the outdoors in other parts of the globe without making reservations. Just stop by Susan's place and visit all the outdoor places.

SOYesterday I was feeling that joy that rises from within. No matter what our circumstance might be, there are days when we look around and only see our blessings.

YippeeI was remembering a lesson that I had learned about appreciation...

Nature's blessings

MY BLOG IS UNFROZEN YAY!Years ago in the late sixties, I was really impressed with an article I read in Life Magazine. There was a kindergarten class where they were teaching the little children to be thankful.

AMThey had all the children lie on bamboo poles on the floor for a while. Then when the children began to realize how uncomfortable that was, they had them return to lie on their soft cots on the floor.

II will never forget the happy faces of these children as they lie on the floor for a nap on their cots made of blankets. I wonder if they would have really appreciated them, had they not known the difference.

SWAN BOATS

Would the painter's work be fair to our eyes,

Oakville gardens

Without shade on land or sea?

FOOT BRIDGE BY SWAN BOATS

Would we know the meaning of happiness,

Wellesely town hall

Would we feel that the day was bright,

Best Friends

If we'd never known what it was to grieve,
Nor gazed on the dark at night?

Wishing you a day filled with the views of your many blessings.

A beautiful post Karen. I make it a point to find grateful moments everyday. In fact before I set my feet on the floor each morning I think of 3 things I am grateful for.

Your pictures are stunning.

Oh Karen honey, you nailed it today. Right on the head. I don't know of anyone who can not walk away today and say, "WOW". The pictures are absolutely stunning and really bring your message home. I am on my knees before I walk away from my bed each morning thanking God for the wonderful blessings that he has bestowed upon us. Thanks for sharing. I love to come home when I come here. Just beautiful honey, just beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Country Hugs, Sherry

Oh Karen, this was such a beautiful post visually and spiritually. I loved all of the photographs, and the poem is so beautiful and so inspiring. I'm going back to look and read again. I also want to thank you for how kind you are to encourage me on both of my blogs. You sure know how to make someone feel good. Right now, I'm counting that I "know" you as one of my very special blessings-not just because you encourage me, but because I love coming to see your blog posts. Thank you for being such a wonderful person. laurie

These photographs are just incredible! I love the Wayside Inn. It's been years since I was there but you brought back so many memories. Of course, the ocean always speaks to me. Your theme is one of my favorite subjects. "There must needs be opposition in all things." A favorite quote. Thanks for the lovely post.
