The Wonderful Wizard of Oz Gala on a Pink Saturday

Today Twyla and Lindsey are having The Wonderful Wizard of Oz Gala. Today is also Pink Saturday and Bev from How Sweet The Sound and all of the Pink Saturday crowd are welcome to follow the yellow brick road to this fun day.

When I was thinking about creating something for today, I remembered how much I loved Dorothy. I never get tired of watching the Wizard of Oz or creating Dorothy creations for friends.

Over The Rainbow

I just love illustrating Dorothy...

Then there is always Glendaware...

Don't forget your crown

Oh, look Dorothy got all dressed up in pink especially for Pink Saturday.

To celebrate the Wizard of Oz Gala, I designed a Dorothy greeting card.

I added a bit of stickles to her ruby slippers and a bit of ribbon trim...

I thought why not give you a download so that you can make your own Dorothy cards. You can also use the image for banners, tags or pop it in a frame.

In honor of the Pink Saturday guests, here is Dorothy in her pink frock.

If you click on the photos above, it will bring you to my flickr page. Just click on ALL SIZES, above the photo and it will bring you to the page that will allow you to download any size you would like. If you print two 5 x 7 images on 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper, just trim them, glue them to a piece of cardstock.

oz 9

After you have printed and trimmed Dorothy, just add a bit of ribbon, some red glitter or stickles the ruby slippers and you will have a Dorothy card for any occasion.

Thank you Twyla and Lindsey and if you e-mail me your mailing address I would love to send you this greeting card as my thank you for hosting such a fun day celebrating one of our favorite movies. What's that Toto? Oh, yes it's time to go...

cocoa the wonder dog

The song for this post is Over The Rainbow and Judy Garland sings this song the best. Now it's time to follow the yellow brick road to The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz Gala and to read all the wonderful Pink Saturday Posts. Let's all welcome Liz who lives in Scotland to Pink Saturday. Her blog is called Life at The Gables.

Karen, this post gives me a big smile, and makes my heart happy. I love this movie, too. I always remember it showing on television on Sunday evening when I was a child. It was broadcast once a year, and I would always ask my mother if we could stay home instead of going to church that night.

Your Dorothy is beautiful, and it is nice that she now has a new pink outfit. Thank you for sharing the download.

And, I love hearing Judy Garland sing this song.

Happy Pink Saturday, dear friend. Did you notice that I have one of the pieces you sent me hanging in my office. I love it, and I think of you repeatedly during the day each time I look at it.
