Rain

The Many Sounds of Rain

Rain

It is raining today and the sound of the drops against my roof. I love to listen to the rain.

the old man is snoring

It has many sounds and sings in perfect harmony. The rush of many sweet raindrops orchestrated in serenity. Alongside the captured drops are falling in the off beat little distant corner.

They can dance in so many such corners...creating lovely music. Until the sounds are interrupted by the sound of a rushing car passing by and splashing through the rain’s remains.

As if by some magical command, you will hear the thunder and then the rain in perfect obedience comes down even harder.

underneath my umbrella

The puddles respond in kind with lovely sounds mimicking that of drums to accompany the music of the pouring rain. On and off the rain changes it’s course from a light rain to a heavy downpour.

Chinese Grandmas Colorful

Remarkable variations with wind and storm raging for a while and then returning to the gentle sweet rain that invites you for a walk.

Puddles Can Be Beautiful

Oh yes conductor, I can hear the many sounds of the wonder of the rain’s music. Each instrument brings reminders to stop for a moment,, contemplate, read or just be mindful. Without respect for it’s intricate design, we often define all this splendor as simply rain.

When I was little I knew all the nursery rhymes that sang about chasing the rain away. Now, I love rainy days because it gives me an excuse to just rest, read or write. Now I appreciate the wonder of rain. I would love to compose lovely words to describe it’s many faces and voices to define it’s poetry.

Karen, you DID compose lovely words to describe the voices of rain! I've always said I'd like a metal roof, just so I could hear the sounds of rain on it. This was a beautiful post. laurie
