Happy Pink Saturday and Happy New Year

My creation

painting-french-9Today is Pink Saturday and Bev from How Sweet the Sound is hosting this pink day. Bev asked us to share a project we want to work on this year.

DSC04540My project for this year is to take some beautiful antique artwork from some of my old book collection and repurpose it to share. I already started my new blog For The Love of Old Books, and I have already begun restoring some artwork. Besides prints, cards and bookplates, I am thinking about shadow boxes, miniature book editions and mini canvases on easels.

Vintage-treeWishing you a wonderful 2010. I feel hopeful that this year will be wonderful. To celebrate, I thought I would give you this calendar to print out. I created this calendar for my Spoonflower Fabrics, as a wall hanging for one of their weekly contests.

A Story in the Moon Calendar

Vintage-treeI called it There was a story in the moon. Louisa May Alcott's Orchard House is in the moon.

Vintage-treeThen when I printed it out on paper I loved how it looked. Just click on this calendar below to make it large and then save it to your computer.

Vintage-treeOr if you prefer, just go to my flickr site by clicking on this small calendar below. Then click on the image once you get there, and and then click on ALL SIZES and download whatever size you would like.

I hope you have a lovely day filled with the promise of a beautiful new year. The song for this post is Celine's These are the Special Times. No matter what year we are saying goodbye to, or welcoming in...they each will hold special times which will become our cherished memories.

I am having a beautifully quiet day with my husband; I am drawing and making a little book for a friend. It is so funny how God brings you full circle. The music or rather, the first song on my post actually is from the movie, Mambo Kings. It swings like Latino music usually does!! Have a beautiful day dear friend, Anita

Good Morning Karen Sweetie...
Happy Pink Saturday and I so love this post. Your calendar is just beautiful and serene. I so love it. Thank you for being so kind to share it with each of us today.

The art you shared is beautiful. I could sit and look at these old charcoal and black and white photos of old pictures forever. They are so detailed and you don't get lost in the color, you actually see the picture.

Thank you for sharing you pink post with me today. Happy New Year sweetie. Country hugs, Sherry
