Outdoor Wednesday

DSC04649

DSC04654I brought back some sights and sounds from my drive by the ocean yesterday.

DSC04662

DSC04654Driving along the road that hugs the shore from Falmouth to Woods Hole on the Cape has to be a favorite ride.

DSC04654Not only does the road wind around views of snow covered cottages,

DSC04770

DSC04654and beautiful ocean views, but it embraces the sunset best.

DSC04718

DSC04654Winter is as beautiful by the ocean as spring and summer.

DSC04693

DSC04654When I reached Woods Hole the final bits of the sunset were lingering.

DSC04768

DSC04654I found this delightful coffee shop and bakery called Pie in The Sky. After further researching I saw that they had rave reviews.

DSC04732

DSC04654As I entered the bakery you could smell that delicious aroma of coffee brewing, and fresh baked goods. A little bloggers haven, since there was free Internet and a big old Mac computer sitting on a desk.

DSC04739

DSC04654A large picture window overlooking the harbor sunset was in full view.

I sat and embraced the last bits of the sunset and reflected on the day. All this, a great cup of coffee and the best warm popover that I have ever had. I love when that happens, delicious tastes to punctuate a gorgeous day filled with sights and sounds that make a memory.

Wishing you a wonderful day filled with adventure and beauty. If you stop by Susan's place you can visit lots of wonderful Outdoor places.

Every Wednesday Susan from A Southern Daydreamer hosts Outdoor Wednesday. An opportunity to visit the outdoors in other parts of the globe without making reservations.

DSC04654The song for this post is Ocean Sounds.

Those are some wonderful photographs, Karen! And what a cute little eatery! Speaking of which, your pictures are making me starve!

Do you know that I am still marooned down here away from DH and my painting??? Hopefully, I will be home next week. Long story. But then I can blog about my prize!!! Yea!!! :-) I am going to go straight there, grab it, and take it to be framed!!! Mr. Magpie says it is GORGEOUS in person. I wouldn't have expected anything less. It's waiting like the last of my Christmas cheer...

Happy Outdoor Wednesday!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Beautiful photos and for some reason I never think about snow on the beach!!! I guess that comes from being landlocked in Tennessee. This a very pretty post!!!

I love the Eastern coast. How lucky that you can take drives when ever you want!! The sunset is beautiful and I am happy you enjoyed it at Pie In The Sky (it sounds like a name for one of your paintings!).

Happy Outdoor Wednesday, Karen!
