What's New

spoonflower-children's-fabric-contest

elizabeth-barrett-envelopeWell Alice fell down the Rabbit Hole right into the Spoonflower Fabric contest this week for children's fabric designs. So, if you click HERE you can vote for your favorite.

Alice Down the Rabbit Hole

elizabeth-barrett-envelopeI met a new friend, RuthAnn on Spoonflower, who also adores Alice and her design is in the contest this week also. Her blog, Adventures in Creativity is wonderful. She also produces some gorgeous podcasts. Mirkwood Designs is all about fiber arts, paper arts and more.

Alice in Wonderland

elizabeth-barrett-envelopeI have been creating new things for Valentine's Day, and I found these lovely books in a favorite old book shop. Is there anything more romantic than Elizabeth Barrett and Robert Browning's love?

elizabeth-barrett-envelopeSo, I wrote a new post on For The Love of Old Books. All about The Letters of Robert Browning and Elizabeth Barrett Browning.

blue skies & snow

elizabeth-barrett-envelopeYup, it's snowing again, but just blue skies and pretty white stuff now. I am continuing to add new things to my shop.

Map the Elephant

elizabeth-barrett-envelopeAnd playing with Antique Artwork to restore and create new things. I am working on a new fabric for a contest next week about insects.

I chose the not so yucky variation...butterflies. If you click on the image below, you can see what Butterfly Inspiration looks like in yards of material. I love the mirror image myself. If you edit the fabric to be a bit smaller and then use mirror image it looks like butterflies are outside your window. Major cool.

elizabeth-barrett-envelopeOh, and I met a wonderful blogger who loves old books too. Joe's blog is called Prosperos Bookshelf He featured my Great Aunt Adelaide's Attic parcel on his treasury this week. He is located in Maine and has a great shop on etsy. His wife also has a lovely shop on etsy called Rough Magic Holidays. She has some really nice Valentine's gifts too.

elizabeth-barrett-envelopeSleep Baby Sleep, a treasury on etsy created by Arly featured my hot air balloon throw pillow painting. So many links, so little time...I was mentioning to a friend this morning that it is so hard some weeks to keep up with blogging. So many things are going on, so...What is new with you? I found this really lovely book plate in an Antique book I am restoring. Please feel free to take her home.

Elizabeth Barrett and Robert Browning's love was certainly here to stay. So, Mr. Romance himself sings Love is Here to Stay. Don't forget to enter your name on my post for my giveaway on One World One Heart.

The fabric vote was great...loved how they allow one to select as many fabrics as one wishes. I would've scampered out of there if they had asked me to pick just one or two. Course you know that I voted for Alice every time I saw her so that takes care of yours and your new friend's.

So much to comment on...let's see...oh, I do love the books...very dear. And the last time I visited an hour or so, I was off on a visit to the Maine blogger. Gheesh. It's taken me a long time to get back to comment!

Dearest Karen, what a magical world you bring us EACH AND EVERY TIME!!! Those images of Alice's world give me a joy that makes me happy that I am a 52 year old child! And.......darlin', if and when I am signing my books, we will both still be children in our hearts, though "mature" in body! I thank you so much for your friendship and great support; it is a healing balm. You are the best.....Bisous, Anita

Your posts are dessert for my beauty loving eyes. The books are fantastic. Thanks so much for stopping by earlier in the week. I wasn't sure if you could receive the response I posted; so I've included it below.

"Oh Karen! I think I know exactly who you mean... Michael Lee. I too wish I had been able to meet him. I have gleaned bits of information about him from various websites and own a few of his dolls. Isn't Hong Kong special? I have never lived there, but have explored the city many times. I'm so glad to make a new friend who shares a similar heart."
