New Finds, Old Treasures and Repurposed Antique Artwork

series-book-plates-presented-toI was visiting several of my favorite book shops in search of more Alice in Wonderland artwork. While at one of the shops I found some wonderful books.

series-book-plates-presented-toI go searching for one thing and find another. Then I think, well I bet someone would love this old book.

series-book-plates-presented-toSo, I wrote a post on my blog For The Love of Old Books today about a new 111 year old book by Louisa May Alcott.

series-book-plates-presented-toI also found a book Volume I of Mrs. Browning's Poems. Elizabeth Barrett Browning Published a collection of poems in 1856. There were five volumes originally published by Dodd, Mead and Company. I also found volume III and IV, but I haven't listed them just yet. Only Volume I has a beautiful portrait of Mrs. Browning.

series-book-plates-presented-toThis little hard cover volume measures just 5 x 7, 290 pages., with red cloth binding. The cover is lovingly worn, with a slight nick on the side top corner and holds slight stains on the front and back.

The RobinNow I am off to create some new cards, which I am going to wrap in a Vintage cigar box. New finds, old treasures and repurposed Antique Artwork. I would say that is enough inspiration to keep me busy for a while. Children's books...this little robin is from a Frances Hodgson Burnett first edition of The Robin. Ooooooh, I am thinking a dreamy fabric for Spring.

Beauty can be found in the tiniest detailsThis charming little song is Lola and Charlie's Theme song. It is from a children's production, airing from the UK to France. This brilliant little show about Charlie and his little sister Lola is touring children's theater in the UK.

P.S. Don't forget to pick up my new DESKTOP BACKGROUND for your computer, at the bottom of my Mosaic Monday post.
