Good Friday

forget-me-not-cross-for-post

forget-me-not crossOne March I was inspired to write a poem about the Forget-Me-Not Cross. I never thought for a moment I was writing it to help me through a trial that I would endure several months later:

n a field of green hills and flora,

I could see a vision of grace and familiarity.

There stood the cross left in all its’ glory with spirit-filled memory.

The closer I came, the more perfect its’reminder,

as a carpet of flowers adorned each bough.

And once I touched my Savior’s cross,

I remembered what God did for Thou.

For on it lay hundreds of flowers,

draped over my Lord’s gift to me.

Each one a sweet forget-me-not,

A fragrant reminder to stay close to Thee.

forget-me-not crossMonths after I wrote this, I was facing a difficult trial regarding my daughter. The grief I felt was almost unbearable. None-the-less I had to see my 81 year old mother for mother’s day, so I got in the car and drove four hours.

Von Trapp Lodge

forget-me-not crossAlong the way I stopped at my favorite place in the whole world…Stowe Vermont and the beautiful Von Trapp Lodge.

Von Trapp Lodge

forget-me-not crossAs I walked through the fields and photographed the beauty around me I hoped to find some grace amongst the beauty. I came upon a spot I have never noticed before,

Stowe Vermont

forget-me-not crossas I walked through the path I looked down and saw a bunch of forget-me-nots. There within fields and fields of green was a patch of forget-me-nots in the shape of a heart.

forget-me-not crossA little further and I was in the grotto and came upon the cross, and there He was in all His Glory, Jesus.

Gardens at Von trapp lodge

forget-me-not crossJust like in my poem reminding me to Forget-Not who is there for me. I wept at His grace.

Grotto at Von Trapp

forget-me-not crossYou see I was walking in my poem and He was with me under that magnificent sky against those majestic mountains. I had been visiting the Von Trapp Lodge for over tens years, and I had never walked on that path, nor saw the cross.

The Forget-Me-Not Cross

forget-me-not crossThe timing was perfect…God’s timing for me to discover such a beautiful place on such a day of despair. He is always with us, all that we need to do is not forget what He did for us on that cross today.

A perfect reminder of Christ's perfect love for us Karen. God never leaves us alone and often, when we need him most, he reaches down and reminds us he is with us and loves us through it all.

WOW. This is what I believe a miracle to be...not something that is always phenomenal, but the TIMING is what often makes a miracle happen, right inside of our heart. I can't believe that cluster of forget-me-nots in the shape of a cross. Karen, this is hope. I pray your heart will always be filled with this hope, as I pray that mine will be as well. To think that one day, we will no longer need Hope and Faith, for we shall see Him as He is, and LOVE is eternal, so that is the one element that we are reaching for and will remain. Isn't that awesome? May our hearts rejoice this Sunday and always, and thank you for the reminder of this holy day, Good Friday.

Love and much affection, Anita

You post was so inspirational and heart warming. Isn't it comforting to know that we are never alone, that he walks with us even when we don't feel like he is and when we need him the most he reaches down and takes our hand and leads us to him.
Have a wonderful Good Friday.

O girl!! I love it!! Now, you got me all into the forget-me-not flowers. I have a vintage set of china that I've gotten over the last few years and it has that name. I saw at Home Depot you could grow them from seed and I wonder if that is what you did in your pot there at the door. I am gonna start trying to grow them here.

I was going thru painful trials with my health one year and God put a heart shaped dead live oak leaf from the back of my yard on the garage floor for me. I have it in a keepsake box to remind me how much he loves me and truly cares of our pain. Girl...it was meticulously cut into a perfect heart.

Love everything about your post!!
Love that you got a prophetic poem. I get prophetic visions and think they are for today and then find they are for next week when a trial comes.

Love in Christ, sister!!
