"Over the dunes, the flute-sweet breath of day
Late lingers in the grasses;
milk-white leagues of rippled sand sweet toward the northern hills.
Under a brooding sky the surf runs
In swelling and falling, falling and swelling,
Strong as passion in the heart.
Through drifting fog
Pendulous in the riven veil of night,
High swings the crescent moon."
A day by the Cape, the key to solitude...the song Forever Heart.
When I sit and watch the ocean, far away places that I have known come back into view. They live in my heart forever, and I love to sit by the beach and remember.
"A vision of eternity
Like a dream
A fantasy of old"
such a beautiful post, words and photos combined to such loveliness!

Wonderful post. Your photos are breathtaking and your prose is beautiful. Makes me want to drive to the ocean right now.
What a peace I feel while reading this post.
I have been to the ocean only a few times and have to admit its emotional every time.
Oh to live near it-- to have the opportunity to just THINK.
Thanks for sharing.
Hope you have a blessed weekend hon.

We certainly had a great time last week. The art show Bettie and I went to was so-so. Found a really cool place to eat. The Coffee Bean in Pomfret. Your photos are gorgeous ! By the way finished "The Secret Garden". What a fabulous book! It's waiting for you when you're ready.
