Pink Saturday

t’s hard to say where inspiration begins and ends.

oes it begin with inspiration boards from a new and wonderful book, Treasured Notions.

r in looking at patchwork squares inside a new and lovely magazine?

erhaps it begins with finding a parcel filled with new fabric designs in the mailbox.

began to sew by hand a square using my Evening in Paris dress form fabric,

Dress Form Eiffel Tower

ertainly the clear blue skies and fresh air outside painted a serene mood to create. As the curtains swayed with each breeze, I sat totally content creating something new.

mbellishment inspiration came easy as I found small Eiffel Tower charms, some Antique favorites, peach chiffon ribbons embellished with roses, Vintage ribbon in the same peach color and new lace in dreamy French taupe...all found in my notion stash.

eeing metallic notions and threads, inspired a bit of embroidery using metallic floss.

put my favorite Jane Austen movie on, and watched as words and scenes from my favorite book came alive. My special version which I first watched in the theater in Hong Kong in 1995.

ewing by hand, and listening to Jane Austen lines recited, seemed the perfect company for an old fashioned craft. I occasionally glanced to see a favorite scene.

sn’t it beautiful, when inspiration begins and ends in the most unexpected way?

Ah...halfway to Vermont to visit your mother! Mine is coming tomorrow for a Mother's Day Tea one day early. I'm rather surprised that she's making the trek, but I can imagine what is on her mind. Thanks for your lovely visit. It's nice to know that someone is surprised and happy to see me. :D

You know, I often wonder about inspiration looking at all that you accomplish. And I have wondered about the process. It's good to know that you are harvesting inspiration from many sources. You seek it, in other words.
