Mosaic Monday

the old man is snoring

oday is Mosaic Monday, and Mary from Little Red House, is hosting this lovely day.

altered-book-birdIt's been raining, and raining and raining.

My creation

altered-book-birdI was thinking about the color gray.

My creation

altered-book-birdGray can be uplifting, even when it rains.

Shades of gray

altered-book-birdHoping these gray days fly away...Wishing you blue skies today.

Michael Feinstein always chases away gray skies, as he sings Begin the Beguine.

When I was a little girl my mom took me to see the movie Singing in the Rain. She said I danced all the way home splashing in the puddles. Wishing you a lovely Monday.

P.S. Yay it's 6PM and the sun came out. I was just daydreaming favorites on etsy, look at this fairytale treasury I made.

Until just now, I've not thought of gray being uplifting. Seeing your mosaics is uplifting. Has it been raining there for days, too? Hope that it all ends soon as I'm spraying for slugs like crazy with all this damp. Say, my friend, your work is even featured in my mosaic this week! ;>

Yes, gray does have its own quiet beauty, especially when it's you taking the pictures, Karen! Hoping you have some blue skies soon! :)

Hi Sweetie!
As normal your post is spot on beauty!!!

Gray skies are my perfect time to run out to shoot flowers and other vibrant colors. No harsh shadows! Love the cloudy grey days!

And like you so beautifully presented... Gray go so well with PINK!

Hope to see you this Friday AND Saturday... always love seeing your beauty AND where you work ;)

Oh we have had so much rain, but the gardens are a neon green and everything is just burgeoning with life. The clouds will pass ever so quickly and the sun will be back. Lovely post my dear friend! Anita

We haven't had enough rain of late. It's been very dry in parts of Florida.

I love the color grey. My cousin's townhouse in Georgetown was painted in the most wonderful shade of grey inside. He had crisp white trim on the moldings and fireplace, and he had done his sofas in suiting fabric with red foulard pillows... like a suit and tie. I loved that place more than anything.

I can see you and your mom dancing in the puddles on the way home. What a wonderful image, Karen!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Your grey's are beautiful indeed! Enjoy that rain. We haven't had our usual for the spring & it is HOT here already. Love Texas about 8 months out of the year... those other 4 STINK! Charlene

I'm not so fond of grey to tell you the truth. I love the sunlight and the colors. In our climate it rains quite a lot and we have our share of grey days. When I was a child I always wanted to eat carrots or beets on a grey day and no chicory!

Hi Karen

Although we've not had so much rain it has been very humid lately..much too humid for early June!

I enjoyed your mosaics..and the fun memories of singing in the rain!

I always think of grey as calming. We have had plenty of grey days here this month, sometimes it seems it will never stop raining (although the sun did finally come out this afternoon:>)

We have had rain here every day for a week, big thunderstorms that leave as quickly as they arrive. In between it's been 90 degrees, too hot too early.
Love your collages!
