Summer Street

PhotoFunia-1a1bebSummer Street leads to pretty days on the Cape.

PhotoFunia-1a18fbSandwich has one of the quaintest little villages...

PhotoFunia-19e8b3and sketching what I see there.

PhotoFunia-19e6b0Just kidding, I found the link to this Fun photo effects on PhotoFunia from Karen's recent post.

All kidding aside, I did find the most remarkable sketchbook in my favorite old book shop.

DSC06350Cape Cod Sketches by Jack Frost, published in 1939. Inside book, which was signed by the author, was a map and newspaper clippings about the anniversary of the book being published.

DSC06348If you would like to see the sketches and the actual places, I found a wonderful site that walks you through his sketches.

Whether the images are found on a sketchpad, through someone's lovely artwork, or in photographs...Cape Cod is always filled with inspiration,

especially during Those Lazy Hazy Days of Summer.

Claudia from Dippity Road is hosting Finding Beauty Friday. Each Friday Claudia celebrates the beauty around us, and asks us all to join her celebration in Finding Beauty.

Karen, I would give anything if I were right there with you, shopping those wonderful shops and seeing all the cute New England cottages. I adore cottages, and that was my favorite thing about New England, particularly Edgartown. That and the beautiful flowers everywhere.

Love the book you found. I bet it serves as some inspiration.
