Just Because Monday
Monday, April 18, 2011
It seems like a year has gone by since I changed the way I blog,
Yet it was only in February of this year when I discovered I needed to make a change.
I was going through what I called Blogapause, which I wrote about HERE.
Wondering why I had lost my desire to blog because the pressure of pleasing other people was getting to me.
Sometimes I stopped what I was doing to write a post for someone else several times a week. It was as if I was allowing my blog to be highjacked.
I am happy to say that I feel like I am back on track again, writing what I want to write, even if I am missing the countless wonderful linky parties.
Now I join once in a while, if I want to, preferably the ones where the hostess actually takes the time to visit you after you have taken the time to write a post for their topic.
That was really annoying me.
I link up to the things that I enjoy, but most of the time I am back to blogging the way I began...
Writing, dreaming and creating inspiration. I hope that you have a lovely Monday...just because! I was in the mood for a little Benny Goodman.
P.S. God holds the copyright to my work, please feel free to take home anything that speaks to your heart.
It is so easy to get caught up in the expectations of others in blogging. I have always tried to keep the idea that my blog is my little corner to express myself uppermost in my mind. It may mean I get less comments, but numbers aren't the reason I blog. It can be such a difficult balancing act to keep up with the expectations of home, family, church, creating, education...all the things we try to balance. We can only do the best we can and make sure our priorities are right. I love the "blogging without obligation" idea. I find trying to keep up with others expectations puts a damper on my creative time and abilities.
Linky parties can get very old, I'm sure. I do one a week and I still enjoy it. On the day that I don't, I won't. Life is too short for such things.
Monday, and the whole week stretches ahead of me. I'm going to spend it cleaning. I am. It's not beautiful spring yet and Easter is coming with plans and the family gathered. Yes, time to clean.
Have I told you that visiting here makes me want to attempt to copy you. It is the sincerest form of flattery after all. ;>
I love all the beauty on your blog.... your art... your words. I wish I was artistic, but I'm thankful that I appreciate and love looking at beautiful art.
I'm thinking I wouldn't have started blogging if it weren't for David's Alzheimer's. I consider my blog as my journal of our life together through this stage of our life with pictures included. I can look back and see when certain things have started or ended with the disease.
I didn't expect to receive the love and support from others... so this has been my bonus that I love.
Hugs and Blessings to you Karen!
Dear Karen,
Blog what you feel...that's the fun of it...love all these fabulous images. And Benny Goodman? OMG!!!
I grew up listening good jazz...my Dad was a huge fan and today I am.

WOW. I love the copyright owner! You are generous, you are an artist, and an artist has the choice to do whatever she pleases. I love to visit people and follow those who return the courtesy. We simply do not have the time to follow EVERYTHING or EVERYONE, but when we write what WE want, those who understand you will come and keep coming back, extending that courtesy. Love to you sweet Karen, Anita
How wonderful your post was to me!! As I scrolled down to each picture and word the smile they gave me reached easily up to my eyes. Thank you so much!!!
Fabulous post ~ well said! It really is important not to get too wrapped up in trying to please everyone and meet their expectations but it's so easy to do. I just LOVE all your photos and graphics ~ absolutely lovely!
I've adopted the way you blog too and I'm so much happier for it. Loved this post. You are such a kind-spirited person. It's always a pleasure to visit your blog.

I do understand, Karen. I only blog what makes me happy. You are always an inspiration and source of joy to me.
Most of my daily posts probably seem insignificant to others, but they are things that I like. I work full time, and I don't have as much time for blogging as I would like. I have so many ideas, but too little time.
Love your blog so much! Beautiful artwork, thank you so much for sharing. Will be visiting often!
