Texture Tuesdays, Sweet Treat and Silence by KKlassen and my French ScriptIt seems like a year has gone by since I changed the way I blog,

sweettreat

Texture Tuesdays, Sweet Treat and Silence by KKlassen and my French ScriptYet it was only in February of this year when I discovered I needed to make a change.

sweettreat

Texture Tuesdays, Sweet Treat and Silence by KKlassen and my French ScriptI was going through what I called Blogapause, which I wrote about HERE.

sweet treat and silence for texture tuesday

Texture Tuesdays, Sweet Treat and Silence by KKlassen and my French ScriptWondering why I had lost my desire to blog because the pressure of pleasing other people was getting to me.

Texture Tuesdays, Sweet Treat and Silence by KKlassen and my French ScriptSometimes I stopped what I was doing to write a post for someone else several times a week.  It was as if I was allowing my blog to be highjacked.

French Script, layers, sweet treat kklassen and silence,

Texture Tuesdays, Sweet Treat and Silence by KKlassen and my French ScriptI am happy to say that I feel like I am back on track again, writing what I want to write, even if I am missing the countless wonderful linky parties.

Texture Tuesdays, Sweet Treat and Silence by KKlassen and my French ScriptNow I join once in a while, if I want to, preferably the ones where the hostess actually takes the time to visit you after you have taken the time to write a post for their topic.

Morning Light

Texture Tuesdays, Sweet Treat and Silence by KKlassen and my French ScriptThat was really annoying me.

Texture Tuesdays, Sweet Treat and Silence by KKlassen and my French ScriptI link up to the things that I enjoy, but most of the time I am back to blogging the way I began...

It is so easy to get caught up in the expectations of others in blogging. I have always tried to keep the idea that my blog is my little corner to express myself uppermost in my mind. It may mean I get less comments, but numbers aren't the reason I blog. It can be such a difficult balancing act to keep up with the expectations of home, family, church, creating, education...all the things we try to balance. We can only do the best we can and make sure our priorities are right. I love the "blogging without obligation" idea. I find trying to keep up with others expectations puts a damper on my creative time and abilities.

Linky parties can get very old, I'm sure. I do one a week and I still enjoy it. On the day that I don't, I won't. Life is too short for such things.

Monday, and the whole week stretches ahead of me. I'm going to spend it cleaning. I am. It's not beautiful spring yet and Easter is coming with plans and the family gathered. Yes, time to clean.

Have I told you that visiting here makes me want to attempt to copy you. It is the sincerest form of flattery after all. ;>

I love all the beauty on your blog.... your art... your words. I wish I was artistic, but I'm thankful that I appreciate and love looking at beautiful art.

I'm thinking I wouldn't have started blogging if it weren't for David's Alzheimer's. I consider my blog as my journal of our life together through this stage of our life with pictures included. I can look back and see when certain things have started or ended with the disease.
I didn't expect to receive the love and support from others... so this has been my bonus that I love.
Hugs and Blessings to you Karen!

WOW. I love the copyright owner! You are generous, you are an artist, and an artist has the choice to do whatever she pleases. I love to visit people and follow those who return the courtesy. We simply do not have the time to follow EVERYTHING or EVERYONE, but when we write what WE want, those who understand you will come and keep coming back, extending that courtesy. Love to you sweet Karen, Anita

Fabulous post ~ well said! It really is important not to get too wrapped up in trying to please everyone and meet their expectations but it's so easy to do. I just LOVE all your photos and graphics ~ absolutely lovely!

I do understand, Karen. I only blog what makes me happy. You are always an inspiration and source of joy to me.

Most of my daily posts probably seem insignificant to others, but they are things that I like. I work full time, and I don't have as much time for blogging as I would like. I have so many ideas, but too little time.
