My friend Amisha from Gorgeous and Fun Things, invited me to go for a walk
down the Minute Man Trail, In Lexington, Massachusetts.
This time of year it's such a pretty place here in New England.
I love American History and walking along the sights of Minute Man National Historical Park.
and got a glimpse into the way things looked in the past.
We were able to visit with people dressed in period costume.
teaching us all about customs
and foods of the period.
We were even serenaded by a man in one of the historical homes playing the Harpsichord.
I found some Harpsichord music to serenade you and bring you back in time.
So, please stoke that fire...
because there's a chill in the air,
it's sweater weather, and a lovely day for a walk in New England.
I hope that you enjoyed our walk.
I am linking to Pink Saturday today. Please stop by and visit Bev from How Sweet The Sound. She is hosting an Autumn theme this week.
Hi Karen,
I enjoyed my walk with you today down the Minute Man trail.
What a beautiful part of the world, and love seeing the old period costumes and how things were back in the olden days.
Thanks for taking us along and I also loved the harpsicord music.
Happy new week
Hugs
Carolyn
I am so glad I walked with you here and saw this beautiful part of your country. I also love what you did with your photo to make them look old like the beautiful costumes people were wearing then.
Have a nice week.
Hello Karen,
What a fabulous place to visit!
Gabriela
This was grand!!! Wishing you the same!!! Cathy
Lovely photos of a visit to the past and the beauties of your region. V
That would be a fun day! I loved seeing the costumes, as well as the artifacts
I really did enjoy the walk with you. I love historical places like this with the *dressed* guides. I learn so much. Beautiful shots, too!
I enjoyed my walk with you today through the yellow wood. And, unlike some musician of notoriety, I did not find the harpsichord to sound like "two skeletons fornicating on a tin roof." It's always been a fun quote to me and so like the season we are now in. Please do delete if you find my comment too awful. ;>
wow, lovely shots and a lovely walk!!! :) ♥
thanks for your wonderful comments at my blog :D :) :) (I've been grinning from ear to ear :D)
kisses!!
Carina
Thank you for that lovely walk! Our weather here is still in the 80's and the trees have no way of knowing it's time to turn (except for one in our side yard that is triggered by daylight hours). After "walking" along with you I feel as if I have finally had a little taste of fall!

What a wonderful place to see! I love historical places such as this that bring one back in time. The colors of your autumn are always so beautiful and so is your new profile photo, Karen! I enjoyed the harpsichord music --very lively and it made me feel happy!
Wow..I love your walk today, with so many interesting and fascinating things to see.
I love the women who dressed in period costume..
Oh Karen,
I am so late, due to my job and now the new Etsy which I love but it is so time consuming now!!!! THANK YOU FOR WISKING ME AWAY to my beloved New England!!!! Anita
I have always loved these places that bring the past to life through costume and demonstration. Around here we have Greenfield Village. It's always such a beautiful experience to take a step into the past at these places!
I would love to visit this site. My husband and I both love history, too. Thank you for sharing. Your photos are wonderful.
What a magical tour you took all of us on...and for me a step back in time when we lived in the Far West, put our five kids on a plane and flew to New England. We walked this path and many others, reveling in the rich, important history. America has many historical sites, but this one is especially beautiful and meaningful. Wonderful job with your photos and the way you put them together. smiles. sharon
One of these days, you are going to be shocked when I appear on your doorstep in New England! Oh, Karen... I would love to do something like this. I adore history and would find this just the most intriguing thing to do.
I have back into my NE genealogy, and I was looking at the postcards you sent me of Orchard House. And then I have been reading a book about the Mayflower adventure, and I have thought of you every step of the way. So I, too, have been wrapped up in the past of late.
The other day, I had plumbers out in St. Augustine, and we were all discussing the fact that you can't dig down too far lest you hit something important... a brick, a shard of pottery or something that speaks of the earliest period in American history as we know it. Two doors down, they found the remains of a building sacked by Sir Francis Drake in the 150O'S. I love being a part of that kind of continuity. It's a nice feeling.
Hope you are doing well. I'm not blogging quite as much as I was due to all sorts of craziness in my life (house stuff and stuff associated with Adelaide's death), but I hope to blog more in the not too distant future. In the mean time, I'm sending you all good wishes for a very happy fall!
Love you, my friend...
XO,
Sheila

I loved walking with you just now, Karen.
One of my favorite trips was when we visited the Boston area a few years ago. I loved walking along the Freedom Trail and being inside Paul Revere's house. . .and looking at all of the wonderful old buildings and cemeteries...and the North Church. It was also a thrill to see Plymouth Rock...and travel the length of Cape Cod...then to visit Salem and Glouster with all of their awesome histories.
You're so lucky to live in that history rich part of the country!
HPS!!! L, Dana
The walk was so peaceful You have a very nice blog Laura
