The Snow Queen Inspiration

Christmas in Concord, Massachusetts is lovely.
This year the Concord Museum is celebrating the 16th Annual Family Trees. A Celebration of Children's Literature.  It will be held until January 1, 2012.

Each tree is decorated as the theme to celebrate a Children's book.

IMG_0052This one is a celebration of The Snow Queen.  The book retells the classic story by Hans Christian Anderson.  The illustrations are amazing and created by Miss Clara.  The story is retold by Sarah Lowes.

IMG_0052This year the main sponsor for the Family Trees, is one of my favorite book shops for Children's books, BAREFOOT BOOKS.
They have an amazing on-line shop too. I love their podcasts of storytelling for the little ones.

The decorations are each made by hand.

Children's stories should always be part of Christmas, and the families of Concord have really created magic at the Concord Museum.

Oh yes they should! And this reminds me that I have the children's Christmas books set aside for that very purpose. Now where did I put them?

What a beautiful theme and tree. I always love your posts on Concord.
