I'm so excited.....

I have always been in love with texture and patterns.

Mom's Bluebird and Teapot fabric Collection
I especially love to mix them together.  My sister Lynne has introduced me to the world of quilting.

When I left Hong Kong, my friend Elizabeth gave me this gorgeous teapot.  It is my most cherished possession.  Filled with memories of a wonderful chapter in my life.

The teapot has two spouts.  Inside there are two separate pots, one for hot water and one for tea.

Several years ago I painted an oil painting for my mother of the teapot and I added a little bluejay.

On a recent trip to my mom's, I was staring at a gorgeous quilt that Lynne had made for my mother.  I glanced over at the painting and had a whirlwind of inspiration.

When I got home I designed over thirty different coordinating designs using the same colors.  My fabric collection is called Mom's Bluebird and Teapot CollectionMom's Bluebird and Teapot fabric Collection
I am still trying to find a great way to photograph these designs for my shop.Mom's Bluebird and Teapot fabric Collection

When my fabric arrived yesterday, I was so excited that I had to share it with you today.Mom's Bluebird and Teapot fabric Collection

When I lived in Hong Kong I fell in love with Canto Pop music.  This song is sung by Vivan Chow and it is called Prettiest Tears.  Prettiest tears makes me think of the heartfelt memories of that chapter which are captured in these designs.

KAREN THESE ARE GORGEOUS! Very MAry Engelbright. Love the colors. I am now happily playing with the grankids in Virginia. Thank you so much for the ride to the train station. I can't believe how nervous I was this time. Must be old age! Looking forward to our little mini xmas next Friday.

Karen, this is splendid. I have not forgotten SPOONFLOWER, that YOU introduced me to two summers ago. I am gaining momentum on being an Etsy seller, and now, this summer, I will perhaps venture out into fabrics. But YOU are the queen and I am so happy that you have found ONE of your niches!!! That tea pot is just ADORABLE! Anita

Good morning precious friend,

Thank you for coming to leave a comment. On Saturday, yes, my blog was strangely embedded with a link that diverted readers to a strange site, and I must have lost several readers' attention as they so kindly tried to leave comments, so if you were one of them that tried to visit me, I thank you kindly for trying again. This post was special to me, and it crushed me that I couldn't get anyone to visit! But thanks again...and this tea pot is SOOOOOOO PERFECT!!! Anita

Karen, the teapot is beautiful. I have never seen one with two spouts. does that mean I don't get out much. I would love to hear more stories from that time...your fabrics are so beautiful. sending big hugs your way.

Oh those are delightful! We want to see that quilt, too. Will it be your winter's work?

Sweet memories of happy times in Hong Kong...can't go wrong with them.
