Painting Spring Gardening

Spring, flowers and garden inspiration.  Why I am practically in the garden.  April showers will arrive soon, and then I'll be  in a garden in the rain.  Oh, I saw my first Crocus beginning to bloom.

Ahhh, but while I wait for Spring to bloom, I thought I would paint some gardening inspiration.

Painting little watercolor renderings of each tiny garden tool I found at nearby Country Antiques.  Janet Burzenski designs the most charming gardening ornaments.

This is just what I needed to inspire a new fabric collection I call Spring Gardening.

When I saw them, I got to work right away designing a fabric collection for Spring.

I loved designing this fabric collection.  I gathered some flowers, my watercolor boxes and Janet's garden tool ornaments for inspiration.  My friend Joyce just made me a lovely basket liner in a Tasha Tuda fabric.  I put it nearby to finish setting my table to create.

One thing led to another and I was lost in Spring Gardening, even if only in my painting for now.

I am linking to Pink Saturday.  Stop by Bev's How Sweet The Sound and find oodles of pink inspiration.

I love this! Now I am even more anxious for spring! You really should illustrate a book, Karen.

I notice you have a new blog design, too, I love it!

XO,
Jane

T'was just a garden in the rain
Close to a little leafy lane
A touch of color 'neath skies of gray
The raindrops kissed the flowerbeds
The blossoms raised their thirsty heads
A perfumed thank you
They seemed to say

Surely here was charm beyond
Compare to view
Maybe it was just that
I was there with you

T'was just a garden in the rain
But then the sun came out again
And sent us happily on our way

Ahhh...such sweetness! Thanks, Karen, had never heard that song before. They don't write them the way they used to now do they?

Wonderful creations you've been working on. When I'm in my sewing room, I love to see the evening dress card you created for the fabric I see at the right. So elegant in black and gold... Keep having fun!
